Visited my old home of St Pete, FL and left very sad. Completely unrecognizable from 10 years ago. The punks are gone, the magic completely empty. Whitewashed corpo condos and fast casual chains line Central Ave. An example in how NOT to grow as a city.

I don't particularly like how any of his records sound, but sometimes he gives useful nuggets of info. More often than not, his audio experiments like the preamp test have some major flaw in methodology which really grinds my gears.

For those interested, mic preamps make the most difference in a recording when tracks begin adding up in a production. It's a cumulative effect that influences perceived space, dimension, weight, and headroom in a broad musical context.
