I had fun writing this— djsugi.substack.com/p/its-the-en...
I didn't have time to celebrate my win because I was thinking about the text calling out the bishop who dared ask for mercy. About the pardons issued for even the most violent of the January 6ers. About how the man who promised to lower the price of eggs, locked his followers out in the literal cold, so he could be sworn in in a room full of billionaires.

Unreformed: A Captivity Narrative
by Deirdre Sugiuchi
Unreformed is a captivity narrative that recounts how Deirdre Sugiuchi endured her adolescence in a White evangelical reform school in the Dominican Republic. Despite the oppressive environment, she survived and thrived, channeling her resilience into a mission as an adult: to speak out against the systemic abuse within America's troubled teen industry.
Sugiuchi's powerful story sheds light on a dark reality, advocating for justice and the protection of vulnerable children.
