I use Viber for a chat group with my oldest friends in Australia. It now features this feature. FFS, if you need AI to help chat with people you are really just wasting everyone's time continuing as a human being. You may as well have the life of a battery hen.

I am actually enjoying that it is highlighting my ignorance of parts of the world. Already I am getting better at those parts. Still a lot of work mind you.

I suppose that is another option if we are taking it right back to darker times but I suspect Hegseth will beat anyone to that in the near future.

If this is the scale that is now morally acceptable then I'm not going to condemn anyone who decides to hang all the bodies of the executed Trump regime from lamp posts. Its barbaric but to quote Hegseth: "...people need to understand there’s (sic) serious consequences for these types of things”

I am also horrified by the thought that the increasingly brazen misogynistic rhetoric of the right, especially amongst MAGA types, could see even more of this type of political violence against women standing for office.

Where to begin with this latest piece of clueless ignorance about US cultural history? Music history is a good point but I'll start with the fact that the USA's first US-born President didn't even speak English as his first language.

Nice. Never been to NZ. My brother's partner is Moari so I have "Mozzie" (Moari Aussie) nephews. Will go there one day. Have always felt NZ people are far more tolerant, progressive and decent than fellow Australians. However, current NZ government bucking that trend by being absolute dickheads.

We had two cartoonist/authors in our school talking to the Year 8s (encouraging reading of graghic novels) and they were demonstrating how a good character has a distinct silhouette and as soon as they started to draw snoopy, dozens of girls (12 and 13) called out. Was surprised so many knew.

@demondawg2021.bsky.social On account it was close to the theatre, dropped in on The Maple Leaf. Used to drink here on occasion in the 90s. Nearby Aussie and South African pubs from that era are gone but I guess Londoners still want a venue that has poutine.

I have been to Broadway while on holiday and was able to go for cheap on the day tickets. Queue for real play tickets always shorter than Musicals in New York (which with exceptions like Hamilton and Spamelot I mostly despise). No idea how prebooked prices compare.
