My daughter is in #Banff #Canada 🇨🇦 and taking some wonderful #landscape #photos

Dave’s retro life @djroot.bsky.social · 18/06/2026

My daughter took me to a concert at #Birmingham symphony hall today as a late birthday/early Father’s Day outing. We had a great time, and I was surprised how easy it was to get into the city on the train park and ride. This #photo was taken from the ‘secret garden’ on top of the amazing library.

St Mary’s #church in Thirsk, Yorkshire, 15th century. I don’t have any interesting facts about it except that author James Herriot was married there. A few more photos in the comments.

This gorgeous flower has come up at the edge of my lawn. An allium I think? The leaves smell garlicky.

The plum tree in my garden has burst into blossom. I’ve been enjoying sitting under it on the warm afternoons we’ve had this week, writing my stories. #snapshot #blossom #spring

Here’s the secret object from yesterday. Even though I couldn’t get the roller and the horizon to agree on what’s straight, I love the atmosphere in this one. I always shoot these rusty old cricket things when I see them! #KodacColorPlus, #Olympus #OM4, #believeInFilm #filmIsNotDead #lomo

Badly exposed and brought up in post, but I like the way it looks like something from a shipwreck. Can you guess what it really is? (I’ve photographed these before!) #KodacColorPlus, with the #Olympus #OM4, developed and scanned in my kitchen #believeInFilm #filmIsNotDead #lomo

I finally found the courage to have a go at developing #colour #film. Turns out it was no more difficult than B&W and there was no reason to be scared. So now I have plenty of photos to share for a while! Shot on #Kodac #Color plus, with the #Olympus OM4 #believeInFilm #filmIsNotDead #lomo #railway

Just another #hipstamatic phone #snapshot from the world’s prettiest #Railway #Station in Kemble, near Cirencester, because I’m still prioritising other things over developing new rolls of film!

When I visited the famous #railway #station at #Kemble I took a load of photos with the OM4 but I seem to be too nervous to get around to developing my first rolls of colour film and keep finding excuses not to do it. So here’s a #hipstamatic #snapshot #blackandwhite #photo I snapped on my phone!

A little way along from the tunnel entrance I shared the other day, there’s a walk along a drained section of canal that has a strange archaeological feeling about it, like something unearthed from the distant past. #mediumformat #6x6 #bronica #filmisnotdead #believeinfilm ##ilfordphoto
