Looks like a chapter of "Second Sons", the rebranded Diagolon group headed by ultra-racist podcaster and wannabe militia leader Jeremy Mackenzie.

More people voting might be a better measure of "niceness" for democracy.

Well it wasn't from lack of funds for Stevens, that's for sure. In the general I assume and hope that because its an R opponent, other issues will be more central, like medicare, affordability, corruption, etc. The lines between candidates will be drawn in different places in the general.

Also, if El-Sayed and/or his supporters are too hyper-focused on Israel, how did he win, albeit by a small margin, over a candidate who outspent him by a very large margin? Woke, DSA takeover of the democratic party electorate? Anti-semitism? What could the answer be?

Matt Hogan @djpharmboy.bsky.social · 05/08/2026
You're continuing to conflate the very online, "screeching" supporter "freaks" (your words) of El-Sayed and the candidate himself. Are you in support of the now nominee? Do you support the blue-no-matter-who? Or would you be pushed to voting R because you don't like some of his supporters?

Matt Hogan @djpharmboy.bsky.social · 05/08/2026
Well that's a strawman. I didn't say that correctness on fringe issues wins elections, but having the popular/correct stance on any issue is a positive. And not all "foreign policy" issues are equally low in the voters' minds. The issues of Israel and Iran are more prominent than generic FP issues.
110
Matt Hogan @djpharmboy.bsky.social · 05/08/2026
Regardless of where foreign policy ranks in a list of concerns, El-Sayed is on the popular side of this particular issue. I agree that over-focusing on any one issue is not a good strategy, but the point is to be on the correct and popular side of the issue, no matter what it is or where it ranks.

People are against funding a genocide. It's not an irrational obsession with Israel. It's one of the one pressing humanitarian issues currently, and the US has a direct relation to it because of its "special relationship" with Israel and can affect the flow of funds to a genocidal, apartheid regime.

Matt Hogan @djpharmboy.bsky.social · 05/08/2026
Of course he has to build a coalition, but that can't mean going back on his principles. He can't soften his anti-genocide stance to gain some Zionist votes. Step back on medicare for all? What does El-Sayed building a coalition look like to you? My statements don't matter. He's the candidate.

Matt Hogan @djpharmboy.bsky.social · 05/08/2026
Which supporters? Be specific? What have they been saying? That Stevens is a bad candidate because she's an empty shell centrist, Zionist? Is that hate or just accurate? What constitutes hate?

YOU FREAKS ARE SO HATEFUL lol

Matt Hogan @djpharmboy.bsky.social · 05/08/2026
Lose in the general? What would be the lesson? Don't try? Don't buck the establishment? Run to the center? Support Israel? Conversely, if El-Sayed wins, will the centrists learn anything from all this? Will they finally concede that centrism is an electoral turn off? That progressives can win?

The Dem base and the majority of Americans oppose Trump and want progressive efforts to actually help them. Cautionary centrism won't cut it anymore.

The question is also what have the establishment Dems with "seniority" gotten accomplished? Schumer, Jefferies, etc. They're extremely unpopular and/because they've been so feckless in opposing Trump in any meaningful way. Time for Dems to get over the centrist cowardice and start courting the base

Human Nature vs. The Human Spirit in a battle to the death. Who wins? Human nature is corrupt, debased, cruel and conniving. The Human Spirit rises above that with empathy, love, kindness, and hope. How does this battle between our fallen state and the better angels of our nature pan out?

If you don't want Google AI in your search results add "-ai" to your search and it will be disable for those results. Don't know if you can do it permanently but at least is a per-search fix

Hegseth and others should really keep in mind Jesus's condemnation of public prayer in Matthew 6:5: "And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others."

The only thing Jesus and Trump likely have in common is their historically low popularity right before dying.
