“She was redrawn out of her district. If you want her to work in government again go fight against that. That would be a worthy fight. Don't fight her.” ALL OF THIS

Right? County Judge for Harris County is down ballot but some years ago it was that race that ultimately caused the legislature to ban the straight ticket voting button. Her campaigning for Dr Plummer is a big deal.

THIS. I get so tired of these posts demanding that Congresswoman Crockett do this or do that in this exact way or she’s not acceptable to them. It’s giving overseer vibes and if I think about it too long I get really mad all over again 😡. It’s starting to feel personal.

“Full throated” 🙄 Talarico said she endorsed him and it’s really okay for people to not behave exactly as you want them to. You’re not her overseer. Move on.

As I understood, she was helping with some down ballot candidates who wanted her help. There’s too much going on to be pitching a fit over people who aren’t acting exactly the way you want them, and you’re old enough to accept things you cannot change. You’ll be fine.

I’m the same way, but I’ve had about three in my entire life (one before my wedding, one for my bday& once after all my children were in school). I gave the pedicurist a heads up about my allergies and it was relaxing enough that I forgot about my foot sensitivity. You might want to share tho 😉

“He cant refuse to seat democrats. Executive branch has nothing at all to do with that.” Mike Johnson does what he’s told. That’s why he went almost two months refusing to seat a Dem who won a special election in 2025. www.courthousenews.com/arizona-sues...

Wow! I remember growing up my neighbor across the road didn’t have indoor toilets. She had an outhouse and so did her daughter who lived further down the road. I remember when some agency on housing installed toilets in the daughter’s house just before high school.

The buildings would replace a now-shuttered animal hospital and a string of automotive businesses.

Yeah. It’s tough to lose your parents. Even worse when people are celebrating it.

Oh wow! 😳 The only time I actually watched Tammy Faye was when she had that show with Jm J Bullock. I never watched PTL until it was on TBN. I didn’t know the origins until Tammy Faye wrote a book. I skimmed through it in the library.

CeCe Winans memoir and she talked about her time on OTL. Then Prime did The Eyes of Tammy Faye on Prime. VERY eye opening.

I will admit to not paying a lot of attention to him because I couldn’t understand how a televangelist with his own satellite could always be having financial difficulties. Then he went to jail. A reporter from the Observer wrote a book about it so I picked it up. I also read

Looks like it could be. I had a classmate who talked about being on a navy vessel in the South Pacific and the ship going vertical because of the waves. 😬😬🫣

I remember that was a huge scandal at the time. He was accused of drugging and SA the church assistant—he admitted to the encounter but not to drug and assault. From what I’ve read about it, this was done in part to counteract rumors that he was involved with his male assistant. 🤬

Whoops… her second husband was Roe. But she died from breast cancer, I think? I can’t remember. There was a movie done about her a few years ago. TBH, I forgot Jim Bakker was still alive except the news outlets were hyping up his sales of apocalyptic prep kits (they were good for storm season).

Dominique the Writer @djoyousone.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

During hurricane season (especially around Hurricane Harvey), even the regular news media was touting the usefulness of post apocalyptic prepper kits. After that people went back to ignoring him.

I know his first wife died around 10/15 years ago. And then her second husband died after that (his name was also Jim and he went to jail too). 🤔

Freshman year of college I read an article in Cosmopolitan magazine that sounded just like this. ALL the blame on the victim and zero smoke for the rapists. That was how I learned they didn’t have a letters to the editor section. I haven’t bought one since. That was 1991. 🤬
