Hey @miss-machete.bsky.social, I'm working on a tune and I need a pre-drop vocal sample to bring it all together, ideally from a Kung-Fu movie or similar. Can you think of any good ones?

@2000ad.bsky.social Thought you would like this cocktail recipe. The Halo Jones: 50ml St Germain 25ml tequila blanco 15ml hibiscus syrup 25ml lime juice 15ml sugar syrup Shake and strain over ice into a hurricane glass and top with sparkling water. Garnish with dried lime wheel and a mint sprig

@cuntersthompson.bsky.social Hey I was just wondering if you had ever considered having the guys from @spacespinner2000.bsky.social on as guests? They are two American guys who have a podcast where they read 2000AD from the beginning. Thought you could make some hay about what it's like...

@miss-machete.bsky.social Saw this fucked up looking mutated whatchamacallit and was immediately reminded of the meme of the lady screaming at a cat. Thought you would get a laugh out of it

A fucked up mutated whatchamacallit transposed over the cat in the meme with the lady screaming at a cat.

Just got home from seeing The Backrooms. It had it's flaws, but I thought it was a solid movie. I had a good time watching it. Either way, they should definitely be rewarded for taking risks, even if it didn't 100% pay off.

@iwriteok.bsky.social If you're talking about early Warhammer, you should absolutely check out the comic @2000ad.bsky.social and especially Judge Dredd, both of which were extremely influential. In fact, Games Workshop made a lot of licensed games based on their characters early on.

@garethlpowell.bsky.social I was telling a friend about Ack Ack Macaque and upon hearing the phrase "monkey fighter pilot", they immediately whipped out their phone and bought all three books on Audible

So I was having some problems with an external hard drive that wasn't mounting properly, and I managed to fix it using the command line.

A panel from the webcomic Achewood. It depicts Ray and Roast Beef, both of whom are cats wearing metal underpants with a contraption held out on a stalk from the groin. The pants were originally to keep cell-phones and their radiation away from the testicles, although Ray has decided to use his to use his to hold a drink. Also depicted is Phillippe, a perpetually 5 year old stuffed otter. Ray is saying, "Knock kock! Ha Ha! A big Mega-nerd hello to you, Phillippe!", to which he replies 'What...what are mega-nerds?"

I realise how crazy this all sounds now that I have to type it out, but you just have to trust me that it all makes sense in context. Go to Achewood.com and find the story arc called "Beef's Magic Underpants" for the full story.

I thought the Futa tax was how bsky keeps randomly throwing weird hentai into your stream.

A Youtube preview of Mr Charles Read, a soberly dressed middle aged man, who is stood in front of a blackboard labelled "Today's Lesson: FUTA TAX". The video title goes on to clarify that the FUTA tax stands for "Federal Unemployent Tax Act", and not what you think it does.

@margaret.bsky.social The part in your latest episodes about the Phrygians purposely forgetting how to read and write to avoid laws and taxes reminds me of the Indonesian legend that Orangutans are perfectly capable of speaking, but keep it zipped so they don't have to get jobs.

@hntdove.bsky.social I've been reading some old issues of 2000AD and have found it to be strangely prescient (for example, they predicted Grok's Mecha-Hitler outburst in the first 10 issues in 1977). Have you written anything that you thought went too far, but now think didn't go too far enough?

@iwriteok.bsky.social I watched Knightriders and have to say that it was a belter of a film. I fell asleep before the end because I was very stoned, but they pulled off some pretty gnarly stunts to make such a ludicrous movie. Also, what about the guy with the harmonica? Try watching Frankenhooker
