Every day I wait for this elusive “aha” moment to magically come where I can finally step into my own body again and finally feel present and be happy to be alive again. I’ve been waiting in limbo for years for that moment and I’ve come no closer to achieving it.

I do see when people try to connect. I see the attempts, and I want to feel present for them and reciprocate, it’s just super hard for me to show up. So it’s now a matter of re-teaching my brain it can be safe around others again. However that requires new positive experiences to reinforce that idea

I have felt no consistent love or community in so long that my brain avoids the potential prospect of it at all costs now because it’s deduced that’s the safest option. It creates this existence devoid of the pain, or pleasure that comes with close human interaction. I feel constant malaise.

Everyone’s apathetic for a myriad of reasons that I can understand. I am way too aware of the state of everything to not identify with the majority of people — although that understanding is juxtaposed to the unrelating hatred I feel for people’s willful ignorance towards other’s suffering as well

I want to feel close to people again so badly but this current digital zeitgeist doesn’t particularly lend itself well to fostering genuine, long-term connections imo. Everyone’s way too weary of each other and it’s sad. Either that or they’ve fallen into this individualist/self care pipeline.
