Recently had the worst DJing experience of my life. One of my fave venues asked me to spin at a 'private party' but failed to mention it was a corporate gig. I went with mostly vinyl and a limited amount of digital tracks on usb...cue in doomsday music...😣

Which makes sense since mags and even sites are all asking for money to feature releases. Of course it would have to be positive or they'd want their $ back. Which begs the question.... why would anyone keep on reading media that is evidently selling out and has become an ad?

Does music journalism still exist? Or has it been sold to the highest bidder? I haven't read anything even remotely critical of an album or single in ages.

Never too late for a tribute: Jazz-funk pioneer, godfather of neo soul, maker of anthems, and my personal favorite artist of all time and space, Roy Ayers, whom I was lucky enough to see perform at Blue Note Milano years back, thank you for your service, RIP www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOEx...

As a professor of English, allow me to try, humbly and with the proper respect, to offer an appropriate response to the President’s address: Fuck you, you fucked-up fuck, and fuck all the fuckers who willingly fuck with you, especially. You can all fuck all the way off, and then fuck off some more.

I only just heard that Gwen McCrae has passed away. She was so massively influential to funk, soul AND disco, and so many of her tracks sound fresh to this day, including my favorite, "Keep The Fire Burning", which no amount of re-edits can ever surpass. RIP Gwen www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZiC...

No, I don't need a bloody copilot for this document, thank you. Writing is, in no small part, a tool for thinking. If you outsource that element to a machine that cannot think, you shouldn't be surprised if, at the end of the process, neither you nor your reader are any the wiser.
