Yep he's not seen in dos2 but does appear in divinity 2. But the divinity games existed well before the dos series so it's a bit convoluted. I watched a video from Mortismal Gaming a couple years back where i think he explained his thoughts on zandelors disappearance in dos2.

Here's the scene in act 1. A little after my first run when my desire to see every line of dialogue Ifan had I decided oh i should see his death dialogue, what does he say in the arena of the one as a thrall of the godking. And this scene has sparked my interest ever since. #ifanbenmezd

today is not the 12th BUT IT'S THE 24TH which is double of 12 so that def counts right? This year I commissioned @octoberended.bsky.social for this piece that's been haunting me for years. My thought is based on the lines of Ifan's source ghost if you kill him in act 1. #dos2 #divinityoriginalsins2

he'll flirt with you as he stabs you is how i'm taking it lol. Personally I've taken the whole thing as Ifan getting stuck in the feedback loop of being a Lone Wolf. No redemption no answers just the cold reminder of his own failures over and over again.

He does! You can even use spirit vision post Academy battle to talk to him. He repeats the same thing he said in act 2 (which makes me wonder if you're supposed to see him there) and disappears. But in the post credits scene where you see all the godwoken ghost, Ifan is nowhere to be seen.
