The Hierophant from the Divination RPG tarot deck, depicted here in a surreal style where their face is a door swinging open (with a key unlocking their forehead). They are holding a stone tablet out before them, and the writing on the tablet becomes a staircase on which tiny people are ascending up and through the open door. They hold up two fingers. Text reads: "It's the final two hours to back Divination RPG"

The Shark may prepare any full-sized mirror to become a trap for the first human who makes eye contact with their reflection within it. That person becomes trapped inside the reflected room, which is a frozen facsimile of the world outside.

A young man pulls back a curtain covering a mirror and is just about to catch his reflection in it. Past him, the hallway is lined with ornate art nouveau mirrors, each of which seems to have a person trapped inside. All seem to be trying to warn him. At the end of the hallway, a tall lanky figure stands in shadow. The light from behind the figure casts their even longer shadow onto the floor toward the young man.

In our Temperance card we see an Artist going about their daily life when they stumble across a brave orchid struggling to grow in an alley. The Artist uses Transmutation to re-form what they have on hand—their favorite scarf—to water the tiny living thing.⁣

A modern interpretation of the Temperance tarot card. A person with short hair wearing jeans and a puffy jacket stands in a graffiti-covered alley. There are what appear to be angel wings behind them—are they part of the person? Or simply graffiti on the walls behind? The person stands next to a grate which has a small flower growing out of it. The person is holding their scarf between their hands, and the scarf appears to be transforming into water which runs into the grate with the flower.

The art described in the previous image, but shown here in its full form, extended beyond the edges of the tarot card.

The Artist pictured on our Chariot card experiences the promise of power offered by the Road of Two Lands. That power must be balanced—used with Temperance, you might say—to avoid falling into the traps of ego and hubris.⁣ We're 71% funded! kck.st/3HfwpxD

The Chariot card from the tarot. In this modern version, a person stands with one foot on a dark car and their other foot on a light car. Behind them are the shape of a lotus in the sky, and two gleaming cities in the distance—one light and one dark, echoing the cars. The person's eyes are closed, their palms out at their sides, and they look in control and at peace.

The art described in the first image once more, but this time mocked up onto a book laying open. The scene extends even further this time, with the light car stretching onto the facing page. That page reads "The Road of Two Lands" at the top, with some text too small to read filling the rest of the page.

Being an indie game designer means finding different ways to prototype your stuff. In the very early days of we used wooden tokens and drew the various symbols on them with Sharpie. This flashback from 2022 shows some behind-the-scenes when we started 3D printing them instead!

Several 3D printed tokens with various symbols on them laying on a piece of cardboard with spray paint markings all over it. Some are black, and others have a layer of gold over the black. There is a small sponge and tube of gold Rub'n'Buff laying open near them.

A psychedelic illustration of a huge lotus flower. A glowing moon hangs above it, and it is flanked by two glowing cities - a light one on the left and a dark one on the right. Ghostly figures make their way toward the lotus, and some appear to be drinking a brightly colored dew from its petals.

This HANGED ONE is a labyrinthine city; an ever-growing metropolis defying both gravity and the mind. They’re an architect, but also the architecture. Always in a state of change, they gain new faces to match their new skills.⁣ ONLY 24 HOURS!!!! kck.st/3HfwpxD

The Hanged Man card from the tarot, renamed here to Hanged One and pictured in the traditional upside-down pose but in an extreme surrealist style. Their body is an Escher-inspired structure of stairs and hallways, populated by tiny people. They have four faces, and are suspended in air above a curving road through the sky which begins and books and becomes buildings, or vice-versa.

The Hermit card from the tarot, pictured here in a surrealist style. We see an illustration of a man holding a rubik's cube. It is solved, and the individual pieces are falling into his phone which he holds in the other hand. His face is floating a few inches in front of his head and we see puzzle pieces behind it. The top of his head is gone, and inside we see a tiny figure in repose beside a tiny campfire.
