#birders saw one of my favorite birds today! These two turkey vultures are some of my favorite visitors because they eat up all the carrion that washes up on the shore. Patch, Redbull, and Sprite (Sprite wasn’t here today, just Patch and Redbull) are nature’s cleanup crew

listening to Laika Party by EMMY is giving me massive feelings… Laika sweet girl I hope you know it’s been 60 years since you died and there’s still so many of us looking up into the sky full of stars and thinking of you.

i was delighted to hear a bald eagle screeching and chirping this morning, and even more delighted to realize it was right in my backyard rather than across the river like usual #birding

a bald eagle is perched on the very top of an evergreen tree.

Haha they were not still at all. I basically had my shutter speed as fast as possible for the lighting and then took like 20-30 photos, which resulted in about 3 that I actually liked. Here’s one of the other photos I ended up keeping from that session.

Gotta love some cute bushtits even if they are a pain to photograph. #birding

saw this barred owl a few weeks ago, using it to ask for entry to the birder feed #addbirder

was lucky enough to get this great photo of a spotted towhee yesterday

a Spotted Towhee, which is a small bird with a black head, upper body, and tail, a white belly, and an orange-red side, is perched among a bush lacking foliage.
