I’m being such a nerd today. 😭

A text exchange between Himself and me. I posted a photo of my desk, with a screen showing a tutorial video and an iPad in front of it where I’m painting the object in Procreate. It’s a collection of cattails and reedy leaves.

The text messages read:

Me: Omg omg I’m doing it

I drew cattails!

Next is a dragon fly. I’ll fuck it up but this is fun.

Procreate is amazing

Himself: Very nice! Nature’s inspiration for weiner cookouts.

Me: Hahaha fire it up we gon eat

Three more from Weversecon to keep them entertained.

Nakakita Yuma, from &Team, at Weversecon 2025. He's wearing a tan shirt with a guitar graphic and an assortment of chain necklaces. His hair is dark and he has pale colour contacts in. He's holding a microphone and waterbottle, and looking directly at the camera while sticking his tongue out a bit (normal expression).

Introducing two new cats to our household (which already had two cats) has been an adventure. They're still not besties, but we at least have a ceasefire. Or did have a ceasefire. Meet newcomer Marcie, who has figured out the best way to silence resident Casserole.

A jumble of boxes and bins in front of a set of black dresser drawers covered in stickers. In the foreground, an empty box. A white-faced calico cat (Casserole) is hiding inside. A large black and white cat (Marcie) is stepping onto the box and squishing it.

Okay, found it. ao3 decided to chew up my initial response (this image), so instead I had to use my words. So now I'm doubly annoyed.

A six-panel comic. In the first panel, a dark-haired person says, "I don't like thing." Subsequent panels show a bright light from above, then the descent of a mild-looking angel who hands the person a piece of paper. The final panel shows what's written on it — the single word "OK".

First writing day in over a month. First insta post in longer than that. Trying to get back into the swing of things. Likely to fail, but the thing about swings — if you miss your first chance to jump on, they'll pass by again in a moment. Try again. t.co/TNtlkdXmlb

A limited view of my desk. In the center is a large tan and black coffee mug featuring Sherlock Holmes. Next to it is a square of dark chocolate with a corner nibbled off. Behind these is a stream deck with pastel buttons, and the large monitor I use beside my laptop. You can see a photo of Yuma form &Team on the screen, tucked to the side where I can see it while I write in other windows.

This stuff makes me so so so so so happy. I don't make it often, but it's amazing.

Bubbly Hot Crab Dip

Ingredients:
8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature (see notes)
½ cup sour cream or greek yogurt
¼ cup half and half
8 ounces jumbo lump crab meat (canned or imitation will also work)
½ bunch scallions, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons sesame oil
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon soy sauce
¼ – ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
1 cup shredded white cheddar, muenster, or Monterey jack cheese

Method:
Position a rack in the center of the oven and preheat the oven to 350ºF. Lightly spray a small cast iron skillet or a small casserole dish with cooking spray.

In the bowl of a stand mixer (or using a hand mixer) beat together the cream cheese, sour cream, and half and half until the cheese is light and airy, about 1-2 minutes.

Add the crab meat, half the scallions, sugar, sesame oil, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, red pepper flakes, and a pinch of salt and fold using a rubber spatula until combined.

Transfer the dip into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Top with the shredded cheese and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese melts and is hot and bubbly. Top with the remaining sliced scallions and serve while it’s still warm with pita chips, fried wonton chips, or tortilla chips!

Leftover dip can be kept in an air-tight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.

I don't have the bandwidth for them at the moment. I'll have to schedule any future breakdowns. Things are bad, pastel. Real bad. I am losing my mind today.

Jo from &Team. He is holding what appears to be a stiletto blade or some type of pick. He isn't facing the camera, but he is looking at it from the corner of his eye. The mood is dangerous.

Yuma from &Team. He is dressed in a dark jacket. He appears to be holding a futuristic walkie-talkie. He has silver ornaments on his nails. The mood is ambiguous, but given his role as a deer hunter in a former comeback, it feels as if he's tracking/hunting again.

My latest short fic. A one-shot, about 2,700 words. Cosy, feelings realisation, friends to something. archiveofourown.org/works/63917800

Summary:

Jo smelled like soap. Not the fancy herbal soaps with French names and woody undertones; it smelled like a plain white soap, a soap the colour of clean cotton, of summer clouds, of a blank canvas.

It was this smell, the clean smell of a foggy meadow at early summer’s sunrise, that greeted Yuma when he stumbled into his room at 2 a.m.

Everything is fine. Everything is just fine.

A memed version of a photograph from the &Team "Go In Blind" concept photo drop on Instagram. The image is Jo, in a dark jacket with chains and a white shirt, grabbing his own throat with a black-cloved hand. He is wearing a black blindfold. A charm dangles from one lip, shaped in the form of a fang. While &Team's concept is werewolves, this and other things from the photo drop hint at vampires as well. The meme text on the blindfold reads "my sanity". The meme text on his hand grasping his throat reads "this concept."

The &Team photo preview just dropped for the April comeback "Go In Blind." Yuma and Jo are messing me *up*.

Yuma stands directly facing the camera, a dark, rough stone crescent moon behind him. He's wearing a black double-breasted jacket with black leather armbands, a white shirt, and a black tie. His hair is dark grey, with wisps of it over his forehead and eyes. His gaze is level and direct.

Beneath it, a pale blue sweater with black crescent moons, a white shirt, and a black tie. Jo's hair is swept off his forehead. He has a charm dangling from one corner of his mouth, a silver tooth. His gaze is hooded, but direct.

Jo from &Team. A screengrab from his preview video clip for the April comeback “Go In Blind.” Jo’s hair is swept off his forehead. Sigh. Feeling all of it today.

Several young men running through the bright yellow flowers of a rapeseed field. Centred is Jo from &Team, arms flung open and laughing as he runs. He’s wearing light coloured shorts and a pink tank top, with an over shirt spread out. He looks like he’s flying. It’s a joyful photograph.

Yuma from &Team, looking down at a piece of camera equipment (possibly a feedback monitor). His hand is up at his head, possibly to shield his eyes from the light as he looks at the equipment. He’s wearing a white tee and a green/yellow plaid over shirt. He’s smiling. It’s a happy photograph.
