Ready to blitz. 1st time I've dehydrated fine orange peel It took 6 hrs on dehydrate but thankfully our electricity is generated by PV panels & it's been a sunny day Nothing to do with the cake but I didn't want to waste any part of the oranges

Finished zesting oranges for the sugar/zest mix Removed the skin from 2 oranges. It's in the airfryer on dehydrate. Once dehydrated/cold, I'll blitz, hopefully to a powder to use in other dishes Julienne sliced more peel to use for decoration & OJ in ice cube tray in freezer #OrangeFest

Zest & caster sugar. Oil from zest has coloured the sygar

OJ for curd. The rest is either in ice cube tray in the freezer, or portioned for the cake in the fridge

Sadly, I only have elderly rescue 🐈‍⬛️ now. Almost 19. When her 'litter' sister died a few years ago, we thought a kitten or two would be a bit much for a mature lady 🤔 She is, however, the boss of our rescue rottweiler & our 2 rescue boys 💗
