I am here at the Old Federal Building in #EugeneOR. It is 44 minutes past the 5 p.m. deadline to begin work on removing the perimeter fence. There is nothing happening.

Federal Policy Attempa to Forcefully Detransition Trans Prisoners: Interview with Sofia De Ferrari.

This past February, the Trump administration released its new policy outlining a plan to deny federal prisoners access to gender-affirming healthcare, with a road map that leads from pathologizing the trans experience as a "mental illness" to forced detransition.

This policy is a testing ground for conversion therapy, wherein the government uses prisoners in an attempt to prove dangerous conversion practices can work.

Dissonant Times reached out to Sofia De Ferrari, currently incarcerated at at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility in Wilsonville, Oregon, for an interview about her experience as a trans woman in prison, and her perspective on some of the terms and strategies this administration is using to oppress and erase gender-nonconforming people being held behind bars.

Federal agents at the Eugene federal building planned in advance to show up in force against protesters on Tuesday 1/27. All regularly scheduled ICE appointments at the building were cancelled that morning, and reinforcements in riot gear were present before any vigil or protest.

The jury found that both officer Tykol (defendent), and Rodriguez (deceased) were negligent, but that Tykol and City of Eugene’s negligence amounted to 45%, and Rodriguez’ 55%. The city won.

Portland, Ore. On June 8th, protesters in Portland set up camp on the driveway
of the U.S Immigrants Customs Enforcement(ICE) office, located at 4310 S
Macadam Ave. A call went out for others to join the demonstration,
maintaining a 24/7 presence in order to stop all movement of vehicles to and
from the building and interrupt "Enforcement and Removal" operations.

There have been confrontations between protesters and law enforcement every
night since the start of the protests, with the Portland Police Bureau(PPB) and
federal agents from the Department of Homeland Security(DHS) deploying
tear gas, flash bangs, pepperballs, and rubber bullets on the crowd. Over the
past few weeks, officers violently arrested over twenty people, with protesters
reporting multiple concussions, six hospitalizations, and a broken arm that will

require surgery. On the Ice Out of Portland instagram, many posts show

photos of wounds protesters incurred from police munitions.

"They haven't yet been doing mass arrests; it seems like the tactic they are
using is making people afraid of bodily harm," comments K, one of the
protesters.
