people have pointed out that noelle's talk sprites in the weird route resemble carol's talk sprites. i would like to point out, however, noelle's world sprites also recieve an increase in quality, gaining anti aliasing and shading like her mother. i suggest 7b will continue this trend

wanted to share this guy nickname translates to "Chef" they own a worldwide restaurant chain but continues to work at their original location out of passion for the art. claims they "only ever wanted to cook good food for good people" or that's just what the news says. i never really met the guy.

i would like to introduce these three. their names from left to right are "Cheaseau", "Glypharix," and "Rultherial". they may be important.

Three Displaceans lined up, the leftmost is Cheaseau, their body is deep blue with cyan swirling patterns all over their body. the pattern on their neck resemble a collar. their torso is crooked, they have antennae, and their face lacks any features besides a toothy grin.
the rightmost is Rultherial. he is near black and the tallest of the three. he has arms made of orange crystals, with extra large crystal spikes jutting out from his shoulders. they bear a star-shaped mark on their chest with the same color. his neck is thin and crooked, holding up his head. soft spikes on his scalp resemble hair, and his only facial feature is a single massive eye.
the final and middle Displacean is Glypharix. they are the most closely humanoid of the three. they are long and lanky, but the shortest of the three. their body is a dark purple with green markings. an "X" on their chest, and diamond shapes where the joints in their arms are.
their head is unnaturally misshapen, and they only have a pair of big diamond shaped eyes on their face. they have two ears that resemble floppy rabbit ears... or are those earrings? something ear related for sure.

okay, so there are several DEVICE_FRIENDs, and assuming they're an OOB failsafe made by wing ding gaster or the angel or ice-e or whatever, this now brings me to the weird route and the bread crumbs glitch. (go watch a video on that) noelle and kris go out of bounds. so the failsafe... is activated.

in the chapter 3 SWORD ROUTE, they show up in the shadow mantle boss fight. not one big bad guy, but SEVERAL little guys. in the dark world easter egg encounters, they also always appear... different. blacked out. slightly different eye, red hue... it is never really implied that this is one entity.

The way I see FRIEND is as a failsafe for clipping out of bounds. every time you see them, they are always outside of the play area. Everything about them feels like they aren't a character, but a placeholder or something. they even show up as an "example darkner" in the "example dark world" (cont.)
