Accidentally googled myself and it's hilarious just how bad and wrong this is. I've never used LSDj, that setup is not a setup, I've never worked or interacted with the Opera GX team in my life lol

AI slop fuck shit that's not worth your time

You could also monitor how long it takes you to write one minute of music and then base your rate around that. For example, come up with an hourly rate like 20€ or 30€, and then if it takes you 6 hours to finish the tune, ask for 120-180€. After a while, you get a feeling for what's fair.

Christoph Jakob in spooky 🎃🎮🎶 @disomikron.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

Sometimes I also charge per full tracks or OST (if it's only a handful of songs). On top of that, I have an "a*shole filter", so if I get the feeling that someone is difficult to work with and shows lots of red flags, I just double the rates. They either ghost you, or it's at least worth the pain

110

Christoph Jakob in spooky 🎃🎮🎶 @disomikron.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

Usually by minute of music. Also, the more experience you have, the more music libraries, the more live instruments you can play, if you also mix and master the music, all of that increases the rates. Don't undersell yourself, don't ask for only 50$/min or so, that's like giving it away for free.

Recorded this wheel in different ways. Can be used for industrial ambience, train ambience, a saw in the distance, and believe it or not, wind 😂 with a bunch of editing of course

Not doing this enough either tbh. My favorite thing to do is DMing artist friends with the words "do you need my money", they know it's my way of asking for a commission :D

It only appears twice in the entire song though. That's like writing a beach theme where a steel drum only plays two single notes
