You can now use Discourse to power your own AI Q&A homepage
If you’re following the latest release channel, you can now access settings that allow you to run your own AI bot discussion site like ask.discourse.com! The new settings are: An ai bot conversations option in the default homepage site setting. To enable this option you must first have ai_bot_enabled turned on. If a user doesn’t have permission to use AI bots, they’ll be directed to the first option in the top_menu setting as a fallback. The option to add anonymous users to the AI ...

For ask.discourse.com, we ask the bot to search before it answers, link to its sources, and be transparent when it doesn't know rather than guess. It's a solid starting point to shape around your own community. 7/9

Under the hood, it's an agent you set up in the Discourse AI plugin: a system prompt, the LLM of your choice, and custom tools that search and read topics on your forum. You can add URL sources too, like your pricing page. 6/9

Discourse @discourse.org · 23/09/2026
The natural fit is support. Your forum can power a separate ask subdomain that helps customers find answers without digging through search results. 5/9

Discourse @discourse.org · 23/09/2026
You can also add anonymous users to the AI bot allowed groups. They'll see a preview of the page, and if they ask something, they're prompted to log in. Their question is still waiting for them when they're back. 4/9

There's a new "AI bot conversations" option for your default homepage. Turn on the AI bot, choose that option, and visitors land straight in a conversation. Anyone without bot access falls back to your usual homepage. 3/9

Introducing new filter and sort options for chat channels 💬
Until now, chat channels have been sorted like this, with no way to change it: Public channels - Alphabetically Direct message/group channels - By priority (unread first) Though when you are a member of a lot of public channels, or have a fair few starred channels, the list can be a bit overwhelming, especially if you only need those channels followed in case something interesting or important shows up. We’ve just added the functionality to select filter and sorting options per section of ch...

Ask me anything about the new admin dashboard
We recently launched a completely redesigned admin dashboard, and we’d love to hear what you think! In this topic, we’ll be running an asynchronous AMA where you’ll drop your questions, reactions, and other feedback, and we’ll answer them. About the new admin dashboard The redesigned dashboard brings your community’s most important metrics together in one place — traffic, engagement, signups, and more — with better charts, clearer defaults, and a layout built for the reporting you actually do. ...

The new dashboard is currently in beta and enabled by default for self-hosted, Pro, and Business plans. Other customers can opt in through Upcoming Changes. Coming next: better crawler detection, smarter search grouping, custom KPIs, and saved dashboard views!

Business and Enterprise customers can also build Data Explorer charts with AI. Describe the insight you want, refine the generated query in place, and pin the finished chart to your dashboard. No SQL required.
100
Discourse @discourse.org · 12/08/2026
The dashboard stays high-level by design, but every metric can take you deeper. Click into a KPI or chart to investigate the underlying report, from searches that ended without a click to support topics that never received an answer.

Discourse @discourse.org · 12/08/2026
For communities using Solved, the new Support section shows whether community-powered support is working. Track resolution rates, solved topics, staff involvement, reply times, and whether experienced members are beginning to answer questions themselves.

Discourse @discourse.org · 12/08/2026
The new Search section turns unanswered intent into product insight. See what people search for, whether they find results, and whether they click through. Searches without clicks reveal content gaps your team can act on.

Discourse @discourse.org · 12/08/2026
Bring the metrics that matter most into one place. Pin any standard report or prebuilt query to the dashboard. Business and Enterprise customers can also pin up to 10 custom Data Explorer queries for instant access.
