I was very good and only bought one thing this event! This little Hungry Caterpillar charm staring at me the entire time from my table buddy’s wire booth wall (@discobeetle.bsky.social). It’s so cute!!!! They then bought a little bag so we traded $10 at the con as usual.

Getting ready for my next market!!
In progress photo showing a hand holding a pink rubber eraser stamp of a hercules beetle covered in real- green paint. Behind the hand is a tie-dyed yellow and cream bandana with a semi-finished design coming together on the right half. The center of the bandana features a simple block printed flower, with alternating rings of the beetle design and a leaf design circling around it. In progress photo of shrinky-dink designs still on full sized plastic sheets. Features blue tardigrades with a purple outline, rubber ducky isopods with a red outline, some yellow stars, and a page of multicolored fish. Product photo of a jute pouch with a zipper over a blue carpet and a black silicone work mat. Block printed in black with a snail design, surrounded by 3 little blue flowersProgress photo of a battleship-grey linoleum block sitting on a green plastic cafeteria style tray that's filled with lino shavings and placed next to a bright red speedball carving tool. The block is finished being carved, featuring a medium large sized ginko leaf as the design

Some process pics for hand dyed and block printed bandanas I did for my last market. There's a few left over, so I'll be selling those off at the next market and online when I open the shop sometime in April 🪲
photograph centering an opened clothes drying rack, filled with drying bandanas, all hand-dyed. The top and middle racks are pink and brown, and the bottom rack is yell. Photograph of a block of mounted battleship grey linoleum placed on a green lunch tray with a mechanical pencil next to it. Theres an unfinished sketch of a bunch of tulips on it, and it is positioned near a window for what I thought would be nice lighting but its kind of okay lol. Photograph of an opened sketchbook laid out over a desk and keyboard. The left page has pencil sketches of thumbnails of different tulip arrangements within a rectangular border. The right page has a list of other ideas (these will be used for block prints later). List reads: Tulips, snails, ginko, bees + flower, border pieces, other ideas for later: lavender, cicada life cycle, butterfly life cycle, caterpillars/worms, waterbear/tartigrades, ducky isopods, star beetle, moth to light. photograph of a stack of 4 linoleum blocks (not stacked neatly, with corners and edges poking out) with designs sketched out on them, laid over a blanket. Topmost visible block depicts a ginko leaf and nut beside it, the designs underneath are less visible, but some hints of a beetle leg, a snail head, the stem of a bunch of tulips, and the head of a tartigrade all peak through on the edges.

Can't wait for spring and summer again! Made a little collection of some of my favorite little critters to celebrate the new season.
Digital illustration of a rosy maple moth (fuzzy with pink and yellow bands on it's wings), a green annual cicada (surounded by little yellow sparkles), a sleep bumble bee (surrounded by bits of floating pollen that arc around it's body), and an eastern firefly (purplish-black wings, and a yellow head with a red spot and black antennae). Image has a pale yellowish background with a bright light limegreen wavy border.

Forgot to post on Valentine's day, but this one is for the mantis lovers. Did you know the female mantis doesn't usually eat the male's head like we were taught to believe? It's only sometimes/rarely in the wild, and it happens the most to those that are under captivity! The more you know! 💕

was working on some sketches for linocut prints! I'd love to get into tessellation, but that math can come later lmao. For now its beetles and cute doves!
sketchbook page showing a pencil sketch of a standing dove with it's head looking down/ tucked in towards it's breast. Next to it are smaller thumbnails of a nesting dove, and a flying dove, and a little square sketch of possible arrangements of a dove print on a bandana. sketchbook page of pencil sketches showing two small squares and one large rectangle underneath. The small square on the top left contains a sketch of a scarab beetle, surrounded by a border with dots and flowers in the corners, the one on the right is a flower motif with a more nouveau style decorative border. The rectangle underneath is a pencil sketch of a dove with its wings open and an olive branch in it's mouth. Bordered by a dark frame embellished with dots and breaks in teh corners filled with flowers (similar to the beetle's border).

Beetles! I love the iridescence on leaf and scarab beetles, they're just so gorgeous!
digital illustration in a square format of 7 stylized beetles. Top left is a lady beetle, top right is a green iridescent leaf beetle. Middle left is another iridescent leaf beetle with the roundness of a tortoise beetle, true middle is a large rainbow scarab beetle with wings extended, middle right is a purple and green iridescent scarab beetle curled in on itself. Bottom left is a black scarab/dung beetle rolling a disco ball, and bottom right is a bright red rhinoceros beetle. Background is dark blue with a light blue hatch texture, and a bright green border with white accents. light blue @disco beetle for artist credit baked into the bottom of the image.

Drawing leaf bugs is lowkey addicting lol. I may have to do some more!
Digital illustration of 3 leaf bugs over a light green background with a thin white border and a light leaf pattern underneath. Top left leaf bug is green with pink accents and a small heart hidden into its upper thorax. Top right is a smaller leaf bug with a more aphid-like tear drop shape. Tiny hear worked into it's forehead. The last leaf bug at the bottom is a large brown one with serrated leaf edges and a heart also worked into its forhead. The top left and bottom leaf bugs are viewed as if from a higher angle. There is also an @discobeetle artist credit baked into the bottom left corner of the image.

Roly poly!
Digital illustration of 3 roly poly bugs (also known as pill bugs or Armadillidiidae) in a stylized grey-purple with dark purple hearts imprinted into their foreheads, and entirely encased in a bold white outline for a sticker-look effect. One is outstretch and walking, and two below it are curled up almost all the way with just a little bit of their head and legs sticking up. The one on the bottom right is encased in a circle, as it has more legs out and wiggle lines around it with hand-written text saying 'oh shit!' above it - made to look like it's stuck wiggling. Background is a light brown with orange-brown roots to mimic beneath the soil, and a light yellowish green halftone dot border. @discobeetle handle is overlayed in the bottom right corner to credit the artist.

I've got an obsession with beetles if you can't tell, lol. One of the first things I did for my shop besides some sticker designs, was try my hand at carving out some eraser stamps to test. Been having a lot of fun printing them on bandanas and little tote bags, which I'll share later!
photograph of an opened sketchbook page, showing sketches in pencil and black ink of various beetles. The beetles are arranged in small boxes to approximate the pink rubber erasers the designs are meant to be transferred to. Underneath is a few lines of hand written names of the beetles pictured above for note-keeping. Photograph of the artist's hand (hand is mostly cropped, showing a light-tan thumb and forefingers) holding a long rectangular bright pink sheet of paper stamped with carved beetle stamps in dark blue ink. The paper is held over the artist's lap, sitting on their bed, with a silicone work mat, carving tools, inkpad, and carved rubber eraser stamps in the background.
