What my useage looks like: For the first two months of the year, I actually needed to import. This starts around Novemberish/Decemberish. The rest of the year? I generate so much that my CEG covers those four months more or less. What little I draw during those four months....

And since you all made me dig that photo up, here is a pic of my old home lab. R-390a shortwave receiver which is sitting in a rack scavanged from Laika Studios old render farm with a watercooled, rack mounted server. My gf btw, complains about the state of my desk, both current and past.

A lot of it came from the big Texaco tank farm in Newark. Which exploded when I was a kid, in 1983. 1.8 million gallons of gasoline went up, shattering windows for miles. I remember when one of the smaller tanks went up. We were 4 miles away and I could feel the heat before I heard the explosion.

I grew up a few miles from this. It was a coal plant opened by Thomas Edison. Sometime when I was a kid it got switched to oil. I can remember when it got switched because the smell was different.

The old Kearny Power Plant. Built in 1983, it polluted the hackensack river.

My grandfather was born in County Leitrim in Ireland, and emigrated to America in the early 20th century. We have no idea how our family survived the famine; there are no records or even any old stories. The fact that my grandfather was forced to speak English in school may have cut any oral history that may have existed. But the game does have one card that helps the player if they have people in County Leitrim: “The Designer’s Family Hangs On”.

This is the card from it and honestly I fucking hate him more now and I'm going to find his people and we're going to have the chats to see if they can get him to wind his neck in.

My fav keyboard. So much so I made a custom keyboard (now retired, v2 in progress) based on it. I still have a fix I've got to submit so that the linux keymapping for insular r is actually ꞃ and not ɼ (which is obviously wrong) and an addition for insular s (Ꞅ) which we don't have as Alt+gr s = ṡ
