2/2 Where compound flood risk assessments typically require many stochastic event simulations. Using a treed Gaussian process (TGP) model a subset of events is selected to minimize the uncertainty. The model is able to simulate risk with high accuracy while largely reducing the computational costs.

1/2 Happy to share our recent publication, led by Lucas Terlinden-Ruhl, which explores #active #learning for probabilistic #compound #flood #risk assessments. With this approach we can perform comprehensive assessment, accounting for the hazard magnitude, lag time and duration lnkd.in/ezk82rrz
