There's not enough information for me to make a stance entirely, but there is enough to prompt me to take this much action until more information comes out at this point. It's also possible Oney needs legal advice before he speaks on this one, and that's why we aren't hearing anything.

Personally? I'm morally conflicted on this one. Oney should have addressed this, I'm hoping that he still does. But right now his silence has not helped and this went from "Nothing worth acknowledging" to "Something nuclear" as a result of his termination on Newgrounds.

As of now, I am opting to un-publish three OneyPlays fan-arts off both Newgrounds and Instagram until further notice. This decision does not come lightly. Until the OneyPlays allegations are resolved, at this point I don't entirely feel comfortable hosting them given how this has blown up.

INB4 "BUT THERE ARE TEXTS THAT'S ENOUGH!!!" All that indicates was that there were some inappropriate interactions and what isn't helping is that, anyone can make a facebook account, delete it, and it can show as a facebook user. There are too many questions in this to be definitive.

The problem is, the relation between online communication and real world interaction is insanely nuanced. Both go hand in hand but are never the same. And as much as I get what your saying, there isn't a simple solution. I think valuing your mental health is as important as calling out BS.

At that point the trolling culture becomes the symptom of a deeper problem that becomes too amplified that I don't think the majority of us humble online denizens can do much on. Sometimes the best advice one can take is to take time off the screen and touch grass. Take breaks off the internet.

If we're going to talk about the problems with modern online culture, then we should be talking about how people often ignore nuance in conversation and only look at things face value. That deals with a deeper problem that many major social media companies created inadvertently that amplifies drama.

Mind you, I'm not saying that silence is good in this situation. At the same time you can't fixate on the drama forever and constantly tell people to stop doing X to Y without it becoming unhealthy. And you're not wrong about the online culture and how trolling is dealt with, but that's one factor.

Even then I don't think it was the last time either. There's probably some other stuff from Chris' angle that we aren't hearing but I don't doubt that he was not aware of what was going on with the Dream Daddy Simulator drama that happened and this was around the time Egoraptor was losing his rep.

Funny thing is, Ding Dong and Julian didn't seem to have much of a problem bringing up how Chris would embarrass Shad either. And Shad isn't the only person they made fun of either. Unless you're in the know a lot of it can go over most people's heads.

Even when we're talking about the drama at hand, this much should be relevant. We all know the kind of humor OneyPlays has and had, that's not new. It's not adding anything to the conversation beyond why Julian and Ding Dong have an issue and to be fair, they aren't innocent either.

Personally? I'm surprised there hasn't been much fallout on Newgrounds over Shadman even before Tom decided to terminate him. Aside from the controversies those artists faced by association it's always been kind of dumb luck that got everyone through the chaos surrounding that guy in hindsight.

I feel like Shad was a disaster incoming for everyone who associated with him. I can forgive Chris there because I don't think he ever imagined why that was a bad idea but to be honest the standards of the late 2000's and 2010's were so low that no one gave a damn up until Shad got arrested.

And that's just it. I don't think Chris is necessarily in the wrong here. Ding Dong and Julian need to recognize that its best not to get hung up about having been a part of OneyPlays history. And the fans obsessed with the drama need to learn to back off. Online fame is a real bitch sometimes.

You know, the one thing that I like about Chris is that he has usually been forward with his fans. He might not be obligated to but he could at the very least tell the people who keep bringing up Julian and Ding Dong about their problem with OneyPlays to stop.
