At least the doc said I could still do walks/hikes, I just can’t lift anything heavy. Really makes me miss my normal functions when I don’t have em. I don’t like having to slow down, but I’m going to have to. Guess there’ll be lots of drawing/writing in the nearby future for me.🌚🌚🌚

Thinking of fragrances, I saw the spoilers for Lush’s drop that’s coming out later on in the month. I think this is going to be a pass for me. Most of it is florals or the one body spray I already have as a perfume. It’s not the first launch I’ve sat out on and I’m sure it won’t be the last.

I don’t understand how people rave over these types of scents. They don’t half resemble what they claim to smell like. Like if you tells me something smells like jasmine, then I expect jasmine, not some goddamn abomination of hairspray and something remotely floral in the background.

I love getting samples with my orders when it comes to shite from Sephora but goddam the designer perfumes are just straight up fucking awful. Like I get they’re supposed to be appealing to wide tastes but all I can smell is the synthetics. Terrible.

Having to wait to get my ID renewed is the most wild thing. Place is packed. Last time I was down was during the midst of Covid, you couldn’t even get into the building without an appointment. Now it seems like a free for all. I hate how loud this place is. I miss the quiet.

Took me longer than anticipated to read spite the fact it’s not a long novel. Hopefully the next one on my backlog isn’t going to take as long. I had to restart Giovanni’s Room twice. I picked it up almost 2 years ago. So we’ll see how this goes.

I may not say it much but I do enjoy a good read that delves into the human spirit and the flaws we hold. Makes for an interesting plot line. Giovanni’s Room is also one of many novels that starts off with the end and then proceeds to take you back to the beginning to see the journey.

First day of no doomscrolling. Managed to chomp through the remaining 40 pages of Giovanni’s Room. Melancholic, but I enjoyed the read. James Baldwin is very good at describing David’s inner turmoil of his actions throughout the novel. I can see why this is considered a “classic”.

2024 was amazing too save for the stress of moving towns. One of my favourite memories from that year was that ridiculous 15km bike ride I did after my Labour Day 4am shifts. Had Pocket Sun’s “Mirror in Blue Light” on loop. Riding into the sunset with that in the background was magical.

I drink matcha daily, I’ve come to find what flavour profiles I enjoy the most. I got back into it last November and funny enough Aikenka was the spot I ordered from. Absolutely delicious. There’s no colour correcting on either of these pictures btw. It’s really that green!

I didn’t realize how divided the fan base was over Sunshine but apparently a lot of folks outright hated it and said it was bland or lacking creativity. I wouldn’t say that at all, it’s more downtempo sure, but it’s very still much Jungle. Their first album was the same way and I still love it.

Yeah so companies NEED to give more pushback on entry & midlevel jobs being replaced by AI. In a few years the whole hierarchy will come crumbling down. As seniors retire or move on to different jobs all that will be left is AI and the entire company knowledge lost to whoever is hired after.

Got out for a solo hike of part of Deadman’s Bay Path that goes from Cape Spear to Fort Amherst. Roughly about 9km, nothing too wild. Got to get some wild blue berries along with a lovely view of the sunset.

Ya that was funny enough what my friend mentioned too who helped retype me. Honestly I think it suits, I have some perfectionism but losing complete control is definitely something that is a pet peeve of mine. He mentioned the type of 8 I am is more focused on the self too. That’s very true for me.

It’s interesting seeing the different schools of thought with regards to enneagram as a system though. Had one of the online peeps do a deep dive and explain it a little better to me. I think 8 suits tbh, particularly SP8 from Naranjo’s system.
