Our new paper is out in #GlobalChangeBiology! We found that #AlienMammals usually retain their native climatic niche, while often leaving much suitable climate unoccupied in invaded regions. This matters for invasion projections and risk assessments. 👾🐿️ bit.ly/4rNnfNG #AlienSpecies #InvasiveSpecies

So excited to share our massive review on #alienspecies, now published! It was an honor to collaborate with a team of 65 authors on this project. We show how #biologicalinvasions are accelerating globally and what we still need to learn to halt them. 👾 #BiologicalReviews #Ecology #IPBES

Biological invasions: a global assessment of geographic distributions, long‐term trends, and data gaps
Biological invasions are one of the major drivers of biodiversity decline and have been shown to have far-reaching consequences for society and the economy. Preventing the introduction and spread of ....

Our new global study on alien #mammals is out! We found that multiple introductions, long residence times, and a good climate match fuel their spread. Surprisingly, high native mammal richness was linked to LARGER alien ranges. 👾 @globalmammal.bsky.social #Alienspecies #Invasivespecies #Biogeography

Patterns and drivers of range filling of alien mammals in Europe
Biological invasions are major drivers of biodiversity change. Alien mammals are particularly concerning in Europe, where their expansion remains unabated, though the driving factors are still unclea...
