Rare depiction of @dracowie.bsky.social from his uni LARPing of a Sartarite warrior in Apple Lane. Note his fashionable ‘80s hair, before the stress of practicing medicine led to his “distinguished of Dundee” hair style he now models.

A rare depiction of @dracowie.bsky.social LARPing days back when he was a wee fit lad in public school. What was the name of your LARP charactor Doc? And what year was the LARP set in?

So, @dracowie.bsky.social which ruleset do you prefer? 13th Age with its montage rules or The One Ring with it's journey rules?

Dimbyd @dimbyd.bsky.social · 11/03/2025

In light of @dracowie.bsky.social ‘s continuing boycott of Australia, Manchester et al & his upcoming tour of Garycon- two questions remain. Does this make him a “Stunt Gaz” & has he been made a Guest of Honour/ Honor at Garycon?

Interested in finding out more about Questworlds- please note new date for the Q&A session with @icooper.bsky.social revisor the current edition of @robindlaws.bsky.social 's ruleset.

Also on the Gorge- you could adapt the plot for different locales. To misquote Kenneth Hite- "why not set it on Glorantha"? Once Glorantha fans see the film, I'm sure they would come up with some locations and variations. But I'm not going to indulge in spoilers here.

Suggested RPG system for "The Gorge" pt2 - adapting Nights Black Agents Solo Ops by @robindlaws.bsky.social @kennethhite.bsky.social @mytholder.bsky.social swapping the characters around for the player for different scenes. This would allow for a generic skills set for 75% & allow different scenes

Suggested RPG system for "The gorge" pt 1. Questwords by @robindlaws.bsky.social for a GM & 2 players. Slight issue with both characters being snipers and therefore having a fair amount of duplicated skills. Best stress different motivations to act as significant keywords. Longcon format?

Just finished watching the horror-thriller- bit of romance film "The Gorge" on Apple TV+. While there's a number of plot holes, its a pretty effective film, set in on the two banks of the Gorge- once staffed by an American sniper; the other side by a Lithuanian sniper who fall for each other.

I’m looking forward to seeing @dracowie.bsky.social ‘s photos of his Hero Wars display with the centrepiece of his beer-stained Questworlds book.

And yes, while the new edition of Questworlds is generic, a commitment from Chaosium to start publishing a new Questworlds Glorantha book a year would be great. Still the best system for Glorantha. Creators, feel free to add to Jonstown Compendium in the meantime .

It's been a long haul to get this new edition of Questworlds published and it's disappointing that its only available in PDF at the moment with POD promised in a few weeks and a normal print run promised a lot more vaguely. & let's revise those HQG setting books/ adventures for the new edition.

Additional genre packs for Questworlds have already been published- search DrivethruRPG for Questworlds will take you there. & on itch.io there's SPEC-OPS MAGICA CRISIS an manage/anime influenced pack. More is promised- perhaps @dracowie.bsky.social would like to present his genre pack pitch?

Excited and or curious about @robindlaws.bsky.social 's Questwords? The editor/ revisor of the system @icooper.bsky.social has been posting a lot on bluesy explaining the system. Patreon backers of Ken and Robin Talk about Stuff may wish to ask Robin direct on his system and design thoughts.

So Kickstarter backers of 7th Sea Khitai have received an update from Chaosium saying all the outstanding rewards (basically everything that isn't the core book & map) have been cancelled. Refunds are offered. A long & winding road which has ended up in a dead end. www.chaosium.com/blogattentio...

You can choose to speculate publically on what a revised Runequest might look like or sign an NDA to see the current draft rules. Personally, I prefer to indulge in some not always serious public speculation.

Dimbyd @dimbyd.bsky.social · 09/02/2025

This Q&A session takes places after the launch of Questworlds on 13 February (when we should know what the price is). I'm hoping it will lead to a high quality of questions. Questworlds is the 21st century RPG- designed by @robindlaws.bsky.social for Glorantha & revised by @icooper.bsky.social

Anybody else watched/ are watching the Apple TV series "Invasion"? Just to clarify, this is not an adaption of the 2000AD "Invasion" (which featured barely disguised Russians- the Volgs invading the UK) with Bill Savage leading the fightback. This is about an alien invasion set in Japan/ US/UK &

Dimbyd @dimbyd.bsky.social · 03/02/2025

it's the 3rd February 2025 and still no release of Questworlds- the no 1 RPG. I wonder how @dracowie.bsky.social is coping up in sunny Dundee? I heard he's been taking Scottish Gaelic lessons, so he can cover the full range of Scottish media outlets on launch.

It is said with a mixture of a wry smile & frustration when Chaosium announces future publication dates- there’s “soon” ; there’s the year; then there’s the month. Today sees a rare variation on the above- month & year. Fingers crossed for it being all warehouse locations at the same time.

The truth is out. Not content with boycotting Australia, @dracowie.bsky.social is boycotting cold, damp & grey Manchester for the warmth & colour of Wales. & there I was worried that he would be lonely in the gaming wing of Cowie Castle in Dundee. Which airport did you fly into Doc?

Fiction read 3 of 2025 completed- Ben Aaronovitch’s Rivers of London novella “The Masquerades of Spring” set in 1920s New York City, featuring Thomas Nightingale, but narrated by an old boy from his alma mater- Gussie. Featuring the demi-monde, jazz, gay life & racism.

First fiction of 2025 finished- Ben Aaronovitch‘s Rivers of London novella “The October Man”. Set in Trier, Germany, featuring Tobias Winter (an apprentice with the German Folly- Abteilung KDA) & local police liaison Vanessa Sommer (yes, he went there) with gruesome deaths & wine. 1/2

120

Dimbyd @dimbyd.bsky.social · 02/01/2025

The first fiction reads of 2025 are likely to be Ben Aaronovitch- as I've ordered the remaining 2 novellas that I haven't read- "The October Man" & "The Masquerades of Spring". Which will bring me up to date with the published Rivers of London books. Until the next one is published ithis year.

020

Dimbyd @dimbyd.bsky.social · 02/01/2025

The last two fiction reads of 2024 were novellas, both by Ben Aaronovitch- in his Rivers of London series of books. What "Abigail Did That Summer" & "Winters Gifts"- both are fine easy reads told in the first person of the protagonists. Possibly a good starting point for new readers?
