We found that green space exposure was associated with: • lower subjective stress • higher subjective well-being • reduced cardiac arousal These findings underscore the public health potential of urban green infrastructure for preventing stress-related mental health conditions.

We studied how moving through urban green versus gray spaces affects stress in real-world conditions using GPS-based ambulatory assessment in Cologne, Germany, combining continuous physiological recordings with momentary stress ratings during urban walks.
