sample of the comedy, adventure and action we can expect from this series’ coming chapters. I really liked it and rereading it for this review gave me a newfound appreciation for this chapter. It’s left me looking forward to review the following chapters of Bulma and Son Goku’s adventure. 12/12

Toriyama’s round and soft character designs, gives the chapter a very lighthearted and fun vibe. Overall, this first chapter does a good job of setting up our protagonists(and endearing them to us), the dynamic between them, the setting and the main goal of the arc while giving us a good 11/12

Toriyama’s impressive skill for drawing vehicles is also worth mentioning, making them feel just as round and soft as the characters. It makes the characters and vehicles fit really well together. The chapter also does a good job of mixing in the comedic elements which, combined with 10/12

and their dynamic with one another. Akira Toriyama really has a way to make the simple but fun story of this chapter feel really dynamic and kinetic with his draftsmanship. There’s just something about how he draws his panels that feels like I’m peering into a world with depth and movement. 9/12

a talking dinosaur. This is highlighted by Goku’s bewilderment and unfamiliarity with anything modern or remotely technological. This anachronism of these elements serve to contrast Bulma from Goku’s world and shows us that Bulma needs Goku’s help to deal with the fantastical and dangerous 7/12

the chapter I find quite interesting. The introduction of a modern city girl who’s an inventor, her sci-fi Hoi-Poi capsules and futuristic looking vehicles seem quite anachronistic to the first chapter’s setting of a mystical countryside with magic balls, a martial artist monkey kid and 6/12

is scheming and a bit dishonest. Goku’s weapon is a magical staff, Bulma’s weapon is a handgun. They both play off each other super well in this chapter, with their interactions being mostly charming and occasionally funny. Bulma’s introduction to the chapter also introduces an element of 5/12

From the first few pages, you already get a good sense of what this weird, little monkey kid is all about. Next, we are introduced to Bulma, who quite intentionally contrasts Goku in many ways. Goku is brave, Bulma is cowardly. Goku is short, Bulma is tall. Goku is naive and honest, Bulma 4/12

wood into pieces and best animals bigger in size to him. Son Goku is quite a simple, but effective character design. His short, soft body and stubby limbs combined with his spiky hair perfectly communicates Goku as a fun kid with an edge of power. 3/12

The chapter starts by introducing us to one of our protagonists, a monkey-tailed kid we later learn is named Son Goku. It makes sure to show us both Goku early on as a funny, little kid rolling and swinging through the countryside, and his immense strength, capable of kicking large blocks 2/12

I just don’t think that makes him evil since he isn’t acting with any evil or malicious intent towards the humans. He’s just severely flawed and his lack of understanding of that is what causes him to make wrong and bad decisions that he thinks are for the best for the other characters.
000
Diha @dihasona.bsky.social · 14/12/2025
Yeah, I agree. He has caused the human inhabitants of the circus to suffer. It being unintentional doesn’t make it any less wrong. His denial or inability to even think about the possibility that he’s flawed at what he does prevents him from making any significant change to make up for his actions.

Thanks for pointing that mistake out. Admittedly, it’s been a while since I have revisited episode 3. I’ll probably do that soon tho since I love this series and episode 7 has caused me to gain a deeper appreciation of Caine’s character.

than returning to their former, human lives. I don’t think Caine is evil, although his character flaws have led him to do some pretty shady and/or bad stuff. He is a tragic figure, wishing to be loved by the humans he unintentionally slowly drives insane. 11/11

Diha @dihasona.bsky.social · 13/12/2025
This seems to be his way of coping with the human’s disliking him. He even refused to consider that they would want to press the button that would let them escape their prison. The good ending in his mind is when all the humans love him so much that they would rather spend eternity with him, 10/11
“You picked the good ending, where you realize
you'd rather stay with me than go back
to that pesky old macroverse, or whatever we decide to call it!”

Caine explaining how the good ending for him is one where the humans love him enough to abandon a chance to go back to their old lives.

Caine, then demostrates another big flaw of his. His refusal to even think about criticism or to consider that the humans don’t like him. He builds an entire adventure that is supposed to end with the humans declaring that they like him more than the outside world. 9/11

Diha @dihasona.bsky.social · 13/12/2025
So he tries to solve it the only way he knows how: making an adventure. An adventure in which Jax is manipulated into being nice and friendly to Caine, something that Caine desperately wanted. 8/11

Realizing that no one voted for him causes such a severe reaction in Caine that he glitches. Of course, he doesn’t know how to deal or cope with this. He is unable to understand the problems the human characters have with him, yet he yearns so much for the appreciation those problems prevent. 7/11

The bit in episode 6 is about characters assuming something. Caine assumes that he won the award for favorite character genuinely, only to then be corrected by the NPC he made for the bit. At the end of the episode as well, Caine finds out that no one, including the humans, voted for him. 6/11

At the end, a joke from earlier in the episode returns, making Caine realize he was not the winner of the favorite character award. I believe his emotions here are completely genuine. Abel explains that Caine commits to a bit, no matter what. 5/11

Episode 6 continues this thread of Caine’s mounting frustration with his inability to please everybody directly. He ends up giving up on making an adventure and lets the humans go wild while he plans an awards show. 4/11

We first see Caine’s NPC for episode 7’s adventure at the end of episode 5. In episode 5, Caine is so frustrated at not being able to make a pleasing adventure that he ends up doing a lot of short adventures from the human’s suggestions in another unsuccessful attempt to please them. 3/11

We know that recently in the internal timeline of the show, Caine’s frustration over his inability to please the human inhabitants of the Circus is quite large. It’s something that bothers him, and possibly hurts him emotionally, quite a bit. This frustration is reflected in the episode titles. 2/11

TADC SPOILERS I think it’s interesting how this episode builds off Caine’s story at the end of the last episode, in some ways I haven’t seen discussed. 1/11 #TADC #TheAmazingDigitalCircus #TADCSPOILERS #TADCEP7
Caine, possibly completely genuinely, realizing he didn’t win the award for Favorite character Jax and Caine in a situation Caine purposefully set up so Jax would be friendly to him, ask him about secret hobbies, etc.

Interesante como el original creador de uno de los videojuegos que más permite expresión creativa humana de sus jugadores con una comunidad de jugadores diversa en género y raza está apoyando públicamente sexismo mediante IA generativa.

It’s fascinating to me how the FNAF movies put so much effort into recreating the iconography of the games they share a name with while, at the same time, having a completely different vibe than them.

Everything combined with masterful direction and a poetic script that tells a dark yet hopeful story about parenthood and coming to terms with the pain you carry within yourself. All this comes together to make one of my favorites movies I’ve seen this year. 4/4

The people who worked on the costumes, makeup, and everything that adorns the actors in their roles did an absolute fantastic job. Whether it be Jacob Elordi in full Creature makeup or Mia Goth in a costume that almost looks fantastical. 3/4

Saw Frankenstein today. Still processing it but it’s definitely a gothic masterpiece crafted by many talented people. It often feels like staring into a painting. The actors, particularly Mia Goth, Oscar Issac and Jacob Elordi, bring a delicate intensity to the characters. 1/4
