This is our local tourist board (“VVV”). It’s in the main square across from the big church. It features an ornate double wooden door in brown with yellow side columns flanking it. To each side are deeply set arch shaped windows with ornate wrought iron bars.

The semi circular wooden doors of a small church open up to reveal it’s entrance and some kind of small wooden box. I’m not really sure what it does. The rest of the structure is about two stories high built of red brick with white brick highlights, both horizontal and vertical stripes.

This is one of the cities’s famous hofjes. These are enclosed spaces with essential garden type area that were originally set up by wealthy people to house widows and other unmarried women we have I think 20 or so. In the picture you can see buildings in front and to the left with the first part of the garden, a lamp, post a sculpture and a bike in the foreground.

This is a hofje which wealthy people built for unwed/widowed women since after the Protestant revolution you could no longer guild churches to show off your wealth. Plus, can’t have those unwed women running around loose!
