Off to Canadia in a couple of weeks and am hoping to find some bench marks from the Geodetic Survey of Canada. Does anyone here know where I can find a cheat sheet of locations for Vancouver and Kelowna? #help #BenchMarkMonday #Canada #Surveying

Huzzah! It’s #BenchMarkMonday and fate has been kind. Finally found the rather worn Bench Mark on New Hill, Farnsfield, Notts. Clearer in the photos than it is with the naked eye

For #GritSaltBinMonday here’s a rather shy, yellow fellow on Cockett Lane, Farnsfield, Notts. I think he has aspirations of becoming a pillbox as he has good cover of the junction with Station Lane.

Popped to Thoresby yesterday to see the Centurion and the Conqueror that sit outside the courtyard. Quick whizz round the Queens Royal Lancers and Nottinghamshire Yeomanry museum and spotted this cut mark. A good day out! #BenchMarkMonday #museums

An interesting G VI R wallbox encased in a brick pillar for #PostboxSaturday Due to location in front of relatively new houses, I was unsure if the pillar was original or had been resited or made from reused bricks but looking at the NLS maps it predates the houses by at least 40yrs (LB)!
A red letter box, encased in a brick pillar, standing in front of a hedge and houses.A screenshot of the National Library of Scotland maps resource. Showing the junction of Cockett Lane and Mansfield Road, Farnsfield, Notts.

Tenko and Airfix HO/OO Japanese Infantry were my introduction to the war in the Far East. IMHO Tenko is still a landmark drama and Stephanie Cole was brilliant in it. Also her role in Man Down! Tenko and Doc Martin actress Stephanie Cole dies aged 84 www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Happy #PostboxSaturday Here’s my local E II R postbox. Usually has a topper by a local yarn bomber but here it is au naturel with its good friends street sign and yellow bin. Farnsfield, Notts.
A red postbox stands next to a road sign which reads ‘The Ridgeway’ and a yellow bin. Behind the collection of street furniture is an open area of grass surrounded by houses on 3 sides

#HistScaleModels For the #ItaliaGB group build I have a 1/72 Fiat-ansaldo 75mm self-propelled gun that came with this set. Having had it from new - bought in 1989 at a now long-gone model shop in West Bridgford - it got me to wondering. What’s the oldest model in your stash you’ve had from new?
