( she deflects her sincerity with a lighthearted joke , hoping that doesn't make jax completely shut down and avoid the topic . she doesn't know if it'll actually / work / , but it's worth a shot . . )

— 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 🎈 @digitalinsanity.bsky.social · 07/07/2025

when we were stuck together , he told me something . he told me the worst thing you can do here is make someone think they're unloved . and i think . . . i think that stuck with me more than i'd like to admit . maybe that's why i'm such a mushy banana , huh ? ++

100

— 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 🎈 @digitalinsanity.bsky.social · 07/07/2025

why else would he ask , seemingly genuinely , if gangle was capable of experiencing happiness ? he tortures her constantly . why would he care ? he'd denied having any sort of compassion for her , but she noted he was being defensive . perhaps . . . pomni sees the chance , and she takes it . ) ++

— 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 🎈 @digitalinsanity.bsky.social · 07/07/2025

after seeing an opening , after seeing jax drop his mask for one second , she has to admit it'd be unwise to let him sulk in his . . . whatever he has going on . ++

100

— 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 🎈 @digitalinsanity.bsky.social · 07/07/2025

( initially , pomni would've never allowed herself to be this emotional around jax - much like how he avoids this kind of thing constantly . but pomni's painfully aware that she's an empathetic person . ++

100

— 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 🎈 @digitalinsanity.bsky.social · 07/07/2025

i got to see another side of him . the / real / him . he still has some of his humanity left . maybe that's why he hasn't abstracted . maybe he's been here so long he's accepted the fact he's stuck . even if it's in his own way . . . ++

100

— 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 🎈 @digitalinsanity.bsky.social · 07/07/2025

y'know . . . i tried to tell you this before . when you asked me after the manor . but . . . kinger isn't actually / completely / crazy . ( not knowing what to do with her hands , pomni idly gestures with them , all while avoiding eye contact with the rabbit . ) ++

100

— 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 🎈 @digitalinsanity.bsky.social · 07/07/2025

( her own response is rhetorical . of / course / he means kinger . most would take one quick look at him and call him crazy . rarely did anything he'd say make any sense at all - but pomni ? she couldn't agree . not after . . . pomni's already speaking before she can think about it properly . ) ++

100

— 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 🎈 @digitalinsanity.bsky.social · 07/07/2025

( her eyes widen at the sudden question . despite the mocking nickname , it sounded . . . somewhat genuine . it reminds her of when he asked about gangle . was something bothering him ? ) you mean kinger ? ++

100

— 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 🎈 @digitalinsanity.bsky.social · 05/07/2025

after all , the threat of abstraction looms over her 24 / 7 - that's probably a fate worse than death . so she'd like to avoid that if possible . . . 💧 ) even if that company is . . . not ideal . ( the comment is playfully , yet clearly , mostly meant towards jax . )

000

— 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 🎈 @digitalinsanity.bsky.social · 05/07/2025

( it's a little frightening , but pomni / has / been growing more accustomed to the circus . obviously , if she was presented the chance to leave , she / would / - but she definitely hasn't been as frightened as she was when she first arrived . ++

100

— 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 🎈 @digitalinsanity.bsky.social · 05/07/2025

you don't have to " buy " what i tell you , jax . it's okay . i'm just throwing the offer out there in case you need it . ( she shrugs , like it wasn't that big of a deal . ) honestly . . . it would be worse if i was stuck here by myself . at least i have company . . ++

100

— 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 🎈 @digitalinsanity.bsky.social · 05/07/2025

( well . . that's about the response she expected . she can't say she didn't see that coming . but . . it's fine . at the very least , she's glad she said that to him . pomni knows his skull is thick , but the fact he heard her say that is enough . ) ++

100

— 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 🎈 @digitalinsanity.bsky.social · 04/07/2025

( that might've been the most sincere thing she's ever said to him . . she's hoping she won't regret it later . ) i think it's nice to just . . . talk about that kind of stuff . we're all stuck here , after all . what else is there to do ? better than keeping it to yourself forever , i think . .

000

— 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 🎈 @digitalinsanity.bsky.social · 04/07/2025

even if he / is / still an %$$hole . . . pomni briefly stutters , putting her hands up as if defending herself or surrendering . ) but - ! well , uhm . . . you don't / have / to actually say anything . just , like . . . i'm here . if you ever want to talk . or need to . okay ? ++

100

— 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 🎈 @digitalinsanity.bsky.social · 04/07/2025

( her gaze softens . her arm moves up , as if reaching out to him , but she stops herself and lets it fall limp again . ) hey . it / is / worth talking about . ( at the very least , it'd help her get into his mindset a little more . understand where he's coming from , you know ? ++

( she chooses not to verbally pry . she obviously doesn't want to force him to say anything - even if she's given away the fact she's very curious . she never knows with him , really . . . )

000

— 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 🎈 @digitalinsanity.bsky.social · 04/07/2025

pomni's not even sure if she should ask , but honestly , the slight tilt of her head and the way her eyes slowly look him over says a lot already . ) jax ? . . . are you alright ? ++

100

— 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 🎈 @digitalinsanity.bsky.social · 04/07/2025

she shouldn't be / too / surprised - after all , their stargazing comes to mind - but . . . even then , he'd been quick to stop talking about complicated feeling stuff . . . ++

100

— 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 🎈 @digitalinsanity.bsky.social · 04/07/2025

( ❓ ) huh ? ( like some kind of animalistic instinct , pomni's pupils expand ever so slightly when she realizes / what / exactly jax was about to say before he interrupted himself . ++

100

— 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 🎈 @digitalinsanity.bsky.social · 02/07/2025

( . . . pomni sighs the loudest sigh she's ever sighed . althooough , it's more like when you playfully groan at a bad joke rather than actual annoyance . for the most part . her response is deadpan as she facepalms . ) yeeep . i walked right into that one . get better material , jax . . .

000

— 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 🎈 @digitalinsanity.bsky.social · 02/07/2025

( granted , that sounded a little more grumpy than she'd intended , but it was just a result of the mild irritation caused by the flick . 💧 at his self-praise , all she can do is chuckle to herself and stare at him with a glance that basically / screams / disbelief . all in good fun , of course . )

000

— 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 🎈 @digitalinsanity.bsky.social · 02/07/2025

( she's not even able to process what he's done until way after it's happened - she's only alerted when the pain hits and her hat's bells ring in response . pomni huffs and places a hand over the spot he'd touched . ) i don't think i'm physically capable of stooping down to your level . ++

000

— 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 🎈 @digitalinsanity.bsky.social · 01/07/2025

she chuckles , giving him a very amused smile . ) alright , alriiight . . . i guess nothing's gonna convince you otherwise , huh ?

000

— 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 🎈 @digitalinsanity.bsky.social · 01/07/2025

it's true , before this point she was mildly on edge even with everything - but now that she's noticed jax isn't nearly as venomous as he tends to be , she thinks she can relax , too . it's clear in the way her pupils dilate slightly and her shoulders stop tensing . ++

100

— 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 🎈 @digitalinsanity.bsky.social · 01/07/2025

( she can't say she's bothered by this , either - it's still a little weird , not hearing insults coming out of his mouth every five seconds , but it's a very nice change of pace . maybe she / can / get through to him . . somewhat . at least she's accomplishing / something / , maybe ? ++

100

— 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 🎈 @digitalinsanity.bsky.social · 01/07/2025

but / charm / ? please . what charm ? ( the jester places her hands on her hips as if taunting him . maybe some of his smugness rubbed off on her . just a bit . just a teeeeeny tiny little bit . )

000

— 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 🎈 @digitalinsanity.bsky.social · 01/07/2025

( the wink startles her for a second , but she soon comes right back around to laughing . ) well , i think you look fine even without the tail . . ( pomni playfully waves her hand around , content with just following along with jax's antics for now . no harm in doing so . ) ++

100

— 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 🎈 @digitalinsanity.bsky.social · 01/07/2025

pomni isn't quite laughing / at / him , rather / with / him . her giggles are genuine , no sign of mockery behind them . at least she thinks she's coming across that way . ) i'm sorry ! hahaha ! ! ! ✨

010

— 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 🎈 @digitalinsanity.bsky.social · 01/07/2025

no , it's just - ! hehe ! you're so funny sometimes ! ( " funny " in the sense he can be kind of ridiculous when he's not being seriously mean to anyone . amusing ? is that the word she's looking for ? well , seeing him search for his nonexistent tail / was / pretty silly . . . ++

110

— 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 🎈 @digitalinsanity.bsky.social · 01/07/2025

perhaps a while back she would've been more wary around the guy , but -- there's that insistence again . pomni's massive empathy is gonna be the death of her one of these days . she can't keep the same face for long . . there she is , snickering to herself again like jax'd said something funny . )

010

— 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 🎈 @digitalinsanity.bsky.social · 01/07/2025

( there's a pause . . . and then a raise of an eyebrow . if that doesn't convey the right amount of incredulity , she doesn't know what will . ) uhuh . yeah . and i'm supposed to trust you becauseeee . . . ? ( she's not actually being / that / serious . . . ++

100

— 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 🎈 @digitalinsanity.bsky.social · 01/07/2025

i mean , no one's better at being absolutely insufferable . only you can achieve something like that . ( snrrrk . quietly giggling to herself . ✨ )

010

— 𝗣𝗢𝗠𝗡𝗜 🎈 @digitalinsanity.bsky.social · 01/07/2025

( pomni playfully rolls her eyes , just as amused by his comments as she was annoyed . a little bit . ) sure , jax . whatever lets you sleep at night . ( her response is also laced with sarcasm . she can't lie - it / is / fun to bite back at him , whenever she feels like it's safe to do so . ) ++
