DH_Age @digitalheritageage.bsky.social · 27/11/2025A great gift for those interested in Irish Heritage. The tours and online content is well researched and presented. Also the site tours and community are wonderful ways to explore Ireland heritage sites guided by local experts, at ana accessible level. 1132
DH_Age @digitalheritageage.bsky.social · 27/11/2025Among good company in this year @iaiarchaeo.bsky.social JIA. My paper explores phasing of 12/13th C. Buildings in Connacht and regional patronage of stonemasons. - Thanks to Dr. Kerri Cleary for all her editorial guidance. I have big shoes to fill as I step into the editorial role. 011

DH_Age @digitalheritageage.bsky.social · 31/10/2025Well based on the election material put out by candidates you needed to be a mother, grandmother above all else. I think this was more of a blindside by the campaign managers than the Irish issue. People can learn Irish. Not everyone is lucky enough to be able to have kids. 210
DH_Age @digitalheritageage.bsky.social · 25/10/2025I don't think the vote reflects a big move to the left. Low turnout, and record spoilt vote. Clearly the left presented the best candidate, but 50 something % did not vote. Largely the central vote is bet. Still a good successor to MDH. 100

DH_Age @digitalheritageage.bsky.social · 06/06/2025Yes, I just need to borrow someone from NMI for the day. I've only ever seen the plaster cast of the Ratoo. I'm sure it was carved later, though, it's an odd figure. There is a scan on our project page. 010

DH_Age @digitalheritageage.bsky.social · 10/05/2025What I love about Conor's images is that I have to look more than twice to see what he has added. The reconstruction sits so well with the tone of the original image your brain just sees it as real. 220
DH_Age @digitalheritageage.bsky.social · 10/05/2025Spot the replica. One a modern carving from Co. Sligo the other from a 15th C castle in Co. Galway 171

DH_Age @digitalheritageage.bsky.social · 26/04/2025Updated Survey Map for RSAI Bevir Fund survey of 12/13th C church sites in Mayo. DH_Age @digitalheritageage.bsky.social · 26/04/2025I've always wondered how much of it was rebuilt after it's destruction in 1100, and used throughout the medieval periods. what we see today is largely a 19th C rebuilding. Now I'll have to go find the book and do some reading 120

DH_Age @digitalheritageage.bsky.social · 18/04/2025Well it's official this is what my summer looks like. RSAI funded research for Co. Mayo. Each dot represents a church listed in the 12/13th C. And I'm going to visit them all. Decided to add in Sligo and Galway as medieval diocese did not have modern boundaries so lots of cross over 050
DH_Age @digitalheritageage.bsky.social · 16/04/2025When you're stuff behind a desk research can be a slog, until you get out in the field and those sites become real and your ideas and theories comes to life. Some exciting finds today (not pictured) here, but they mean big things for discussing High Medieval churches in Connaught 001
DH_Age @digitalheritageage.bsky.social · 08/04/2025When you realise that the 'window fragment' is actually the shaft of a cross and there is decoration on it. Wayside Cross, Co. Roscommon 000
