#Gardeners ! Lilac leaf miners have devastated my #lilac. Every branch and almost every leaf has been infested. Yesterday I saw little creamy larvae dropping on silk to the ground. Too many to squish by hand. How can I prevent ongoing infestation without poison? #alaska #pests #anchorage #leafminer

Damaged lilac leaves against a background of greenery and brown wooden fence boards. The lilac leaves are green with brown patches and some leaves are completely brown and crumpled.

Grateful to the woman handing out bracelets at today’s #NOKINGS protest in #Anchorage. Thanks, as well, to the fabulous brass & drum corps that played us down the road! Wow! That was high energy and exactly the vibe I needed! Gratitude to #StandUpAlaska for organizing and keeping us safe! #alaskasky

#Pottery people, I need your thoughts. This strange bubble (?) formed during the glaze firing (cone 5 electric kiln) at my community studio. This was sea mix clay with Mayco brown engobe. Three layers of Mayco Sea and Sand glaze with a light flux rim. No hint of bubble after bisque firing (cone 04).

A brown ceramic mug lays on its side on a metal surface. A dime sized wart protrudes from the smooth surface of the mug body.

Loaded a kiln with friends at the community studio last night. Excited to see the results in a few days. I’m trying Mayco Sand and Sea for the first time. Curious about how it will play with the other glazes I’ve got. #glaze #kilnfiring #community

Looking down into the bottom of an electric kiln, the floor of the kiln is covered with mugs ready to be fired. Kiln posts can be seen around the edges.
