I don't say this to be witty or just to make snarky comment. The public stopped caring, if they ever did, a while ago. With everything going on in the world, climate change isn't a top 5 issue on anyone's agenda anymore.

I am learning how the world energy markets work because with everything going on, I would have assumed we'd be at USD $150 a barrel and we are nowhere near that. Given this strange market, I am sure this wont affect prices

I've done that and then gotten nothing. A few times, people looked back at me scared or in disgust. You just stop doing it because it's just not something most people want... Let me get ahead of a potential answer, how could i possibly know if someone would be friendly back to me? So I just avoid

Yes, students looting. Again, the videos are there. I'm not saying all student did this. But the damage was done. Who pays? French tax payers. My PhD is environmental science. We missed the chance to do anything meaningful on climate change. Adaptation is now the only credible thing to do

Maybe its a cultural thing. I don't see these issues in Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan or China. All of these countries are, or have companies at the cutting edge of science, technology and financial services. Western countries have grown too complacent

My point was that sure what the students in France is understandable. The damage they have cause, and the looting is not excussable. The videos are all over the internet, they are not fake. The damage will cost money which is a cost to everyone at a time when simultaneous crises are unfolding

During WW2 high school students were drafted. We are in the early stages ww3 and dealing with the unfolding consequences of climate change. Students didnt cause any of this, but they are living and will live through this. Its time for more responsibility. Just my thoughts Graham

The problem with these protests is that's its always demanding, which is their right. What are they going to give? Will they volunteer in their communities? Will they improve their math scores? Will they go plant trees? The west is in bad shape, it has to be give and take not only take.

At this point, all news agencies are just propaganda. BBC is a government news outlet so I take what it says with extreme caution Nonetheless, the damage to the schools is real, the disruption today in France is real. I sympathize with the students, but what will they give? Will they improve?

What i dont see in the west is a cohesive strategic direction. The rhetoric rarely matches actions. Many examples in France, Germany, UK, the US government doesn't know what it wants or how to do it. Climate change is making everything worse. Very uncertain times we live in

You mean China? They have been rather quiet on everything, which is smart, let everyone else exhaust their resources potentially destroy themselves, then come in and reorder everything. A weak economy, a weak army, if attacked by NATO, I just don't see them not striking. I hope you're right!

I am going to very clear. I am not on the Russian side. Can anyone guarantee it's a 0% chance they don't use these weapons? No. Can anyone guarantee these weapons won't be used in the middle east in the near future. No. At this point, it seems we are just waiting to see where they are used 1st.
