Diana Tixier Herald @didididit.bsky.social · 01/10/2026_When They Find Me_ was a good thriller by a Colorado author but as a Western Sloper, the geography bugged me. Remember . . . No two people ever read the same book. Reading is a creative endeavor involving both the writer and the reader. 000
Diana Tixier Herald @didididit.bsky.social · 01/10/2026💙📚🪐🐉🌶️⚡⏳🔍 Books I finished reading in September. All were enjoyable and will appeal to different readers. The books that personally resonated with me the most were _Hollywood, Ending_, _What Happens at Nightfall_, and _Monsters of Ohio_. ⏭️ 161

Diana Tixier Herald @didididit.bsky.social · 22/09/2026💙📚🐉🌶️ I'm looking forward to seeing the expanded #SFF shelving at Out West Books tomorrow. Diana Tixier Herald @didididit.bsky.social · 16/09/2026💙📚 What I love is a good story well told. I just finished looking at a list of several dozen forthcoming releases looking for what I want to read. The word "literary" to me signals boring. The books I love are fall into science fiction, fantasy, mystery, historical fiction, romance, etc. Genre fic. 060
Diana Tixier Herald @didididit.bsky.social · 16/09/2026💙📚🪐🐉🩸 #SFF shelf at Out West Books. Today's new releases. In a rare turn of events, I haven't read any of these books yet. Some good news for those who shop here, the new owners are expanding the SFF space so more room for more books and consolidating horror. 170
Diana Tixier Herald @didididit.bsky.social · 09/09/2026💙📚🪐🐉 Out West Books has new owners and now the #SFF books are mixed in with all the other new releases now on Tuesday release day at the front of the store. Diana Tixier Herald @didididit.bsky.social · 08/09/2026💙📚🪐 #SFF Read Monsters of Ohio by John Scalzi today. Pub date 11/3/26 so preorder at your favorite Indie bookstore. Was in a reading slump. Gave up on 5-7 books after reading 50 pages. Picked up Monsters of Ohio and didn't move again until I turned the last page. Scalzi at his best and most fun. 270

Diana Tixier Herald @didididit.bsky.social · 03/09/2026Congrats on the book birthday earlier this week. My husband and I have done what we could to lessen our impact on the climate from using thermal mass to heat & cool our house, driving an EV, and when at home operating 100% off solar and batteries. It is not enough. Ordering your new book locally. 000
Diana Tixier Herald @didididit.bsky.social · 02/09/2026I was really surprised by how good it is. I usually like each entry in a series less as I go along but with this series I have liked each new entry even more than the last. 110

Diana Tixier Herald @didididit.bsky.social · 12/08/2026💙📚🪐🐉 Out West's new #SFF shelves when I got there yesterday. Didn't get a photo last week because inventory count was in process. Some publishers have gone to a taller format so books that aren't hot off the press end up in the section since they are too tall for the regular shelves. 040
Diana Tixier Herald @didididit.bsky.social · 02/08/2026💙📚🪐🐉🌶️⚡🔍 Books I finished reading in July. Building 903 by Lois Lowry #SFF seems very timely. Diana Tixier Herald @didididit.bsky.social · 27/07/2026The last couple weeks have been way too busy. Diana Tixier Herald @didididit.bsky.social · 01/07/2026 Romances, mysteries, and thrillers rounded out the month. I stayed way too long in several other books that I did not finish and are not listed. 010
Diana Tixier Herald @didididit.bsky.social · 01/07/2026💙📚 Books read in June. Pretty interesting that stories involving families lost in house fires bookended the month. I did read a YA and a picture book to keep in touch with younger readers. I stretched to get all the way through a memoir dealing with reproduction in salmon and the queer community. 110
Diana Tixier Herald @didididit.bsky.social · 01/07/2026💙📚🪐🐉 #SFF New releases on the Science Fiction & Fantasy shelves at Out West Books. Loved Moss'd in Space, Valet, and Obstetrix. Haven't read the other new ones, yet.😊 0101
Diana Tixier Herald @didididit.bsky.social · 30/06/2026💙📚 #SFF Obstetrix by Naomi Kritzer is an unputdownable scary near future thriller. It came out earlier this month and like the best dystopian fiction it feels all to real and possible. It didn't strike me as SF at all because the cult that kidnaps Dr. Liz is quite possibly already out there. 020
Diana Tixier Herald @didididit.bsky.social · 30/06/2026💙📚🪐🐉 #SFF I love new book Tuesdays. Moss'd in Space by Rebecca Thorne comes out today. It is my current SF fave; great characters, new worlds, and wonderful escapism. I'll be at Out West Books today handselling it. 010
