that time when black men from greensville sc enlisted for ww1 & their wives wanted to stay home & take care of their kids & other community folk in need but white officials "no, no, no!" & called them "loafers" and said they had to do domestic work for white folks or be fined or jailed.
newspaper headline saying "negro women to be put to work" or face severe punishment.

Is it becoming clear yet? #politics #capitalism
Very transparent photo of the word politics in white on a teal background. In the foreground is a Noam Chomsky quote. "In the US, there is basically one party-the business party. It has two factions, called Democrats and Republicans, which are somewhat different but carry out variations of the same policies. By and large, I am opposed to those policies. As is most of the population."

You can't take a country built on exploitation and stop that exploitation without revolution or societal upheaval. What we did here in America is we changed who we exploited but continued the oppression all the same. We still have not learned our lesson. This is why we're here.

The Kola nut is an ancient African fruit of great importance to numerous ethnic groups. High in caffeine, it’s deeply revered on the continent. What I didn’t know is it’s importance in western culture. The Kola nut is one of the initial main ingredients of what we know as “cola”. #Skystorian

The Great Migration marks a significant period in American history when African Americans departed the Southeastern region to settle in Northern states from 1910 to 1970. The influx of black workers during World Wars, replacing white workers sent to fight overseas, fueled this migration.

"No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite." ~ Nelson Mandela #AddtoBlacksky

We all know that cats held a special sacred place in Ancient Egypt, but other pets were also present. Hippos, Crocodiles, Baboons, and even dogs were also kept as pets. One dog named Abuwtiyuw had his own mastaba and was buried as a high profile person would be. daily.jstor.org/pets-ancient...
