If you're applying to a job where it says "look up our company first", and it's for like data collection, research, etc (this is hypothetical!)... should you do it, and when they ask what you know: 1) give them dumb about us page info or.... Give them: Their leadership, movement and promotions

The more I review things I did in the past, the more I realize I’ve always been liberal, yet I’ve gotten more so, and more vocal about it. So much for “you get more conservative as you get older” as I was always told. That would require brain damage I think in me.

I just ate one of our porch tomatoes (it's a big plant on our porch, still producing), it has tiny like 1.5cm circular tomatoes. Bit into one straight from the plant: *pop* sweet juices flow.... wait aftertaste? omg the aftertaste is tomato! it was like eating a sweet grape with a tomato aftertaste

Nothing makes you feel dumb like having to look up a video tutorial for "How do I use my mechanical pencil" It didn't come with instructions. It's just a Pentel... Pentel GraphGear 1000. You push to extend the business end, then push again for lead dispensing, but push the clip to retract it

Ever make an offline backup of certain emails just in case something happens... like you report "yeah so the antivirus doesn't exist, a third of the devices are out of support, and someone who demanded domain admin rights keeps on downloading sketchy crap"

The more I see younger people discovering "old music"--I keep on noticing that the songs they discover are like "story telling songs" that have meaning/story to them, or just quality that feels more human.

I got on an adult toy store marketing phone list (not stopping as curious how far they take it lol) But what I do wonder is, who the hell is buying sex toys every day because of a new sale? Do people color coordinate, have seasonal, day of the week usage of their sex toys and need hundreds?

Remember growing up where it was "quicksand this, quicksand that, quicksand everywhere!" I've never seen quicksand. Why did it feel like it was everywhere and you'd encounter it walking to your car or bus?

Companies should always not only post salary ranges, but list approximations for what it will be. Saying 60-90k/yr is fine, but does that mean when hired you get somewhere in that depending on experience, abilities, etc? or everyone starts at 60, and in 10 years you're upped to 90 through raises?

Yes applying to jobs as have 5k in lost pay that not sure when am getting (increases weekly), and 11k/yr lost pay "forever" BUT also as they have written the backend software to do things that employees are like "yay!" and I'm like "you realize 4 of your jobs can be done by 1 part time person right

How long before they start blaming diesel prices on younger generations because they don't eat enough fast food, so there's less oil used, so the bio fuel isn't able to be made. All while people are like "this isn't done as much anymore due to many reasons???"

I know it's useful for some... but stop printing emails and wondering why they don't look right compared to the display on screen. You can't print a 36 freaking inch no-wrap table/cell/row table on 8.5x11 paper, where the 36 inches gets compressed to 7.5 inches and expect it to be 12 point font.

Up next at my workplace that people haven't yet discovered: they're pushing out the computer-based system with some LLM tied in that will effectively replace 10 employees with maybe only 2 being needed. But wait! Then why an office manager if only like 5 employees? Say hello to only 3 employees.

The part that is still pissing me off with that man from the dealership trying to cold-call get me to buy another car or trade in: he relied on "omg I'm just trying to feed myself and family!" You just nuked the bridge of me EVER using that location unless have to.

Cat place sent long messages trying to get us to sell a car back and get a new one. Said "we dint do that" Response? How about adding more cars? My nice "not in this economy" They then offered price discounts... was like "look. I said no. Keep in pushing in blocking you"

Ugh.. browser crashed, had clear on exit, now sites are half and half logged in, and gmail locked me out for security threat Yet... I can get a security thing from an attempted login from Japan and they're like "is this you?" without anything else to do. Wouldn't be as bad but I forgot my phone.

Recently saw a joke of "AI Messes up if 2.11 or 2.9 is greater!" My first thought, given minecraft, "well it depends, is it a decimal, or a version number?" 2.9.0 2.11.0 then you're like "2.11 is newer", if it looks like a decimal, I think most go with "decimal" not "product version".

A lot of my issues with things also fall into the whole AI being used for applications, ATS systems, recruiters, and even people just in the field at times that don't think of or realize something: if you can write a tool to do X, you can probably easily pick up SaaS/prebuilt tool to do X.

My previous long post just highlighted something else in my mind: taking a job at a place where you are "the only person responsible for everything" can be, in an effect, a dead end permeant job where everything after also has to be "the only person responsible for everything"

I just realized why I'm so tired of work. I started when I was 8 years old. Small things, but still. I worked when in high school at 5am, then went to school, then went to college after school, and did band other nights. I spent from 5am to 10/11pm every day working or school.

Duck... got rejected for the job. Going to assume it's an age or then assuming is require the max pay whereas others wouldn't ask for that. Little did they know their low end would've been a30k increase

On the drive to work today it hit me... men are like "omg it's not all men". But if you know there's 20 women in a room, 19 will poison you, and one offers you a drink. I bet none of the men would take it because "omg they're going to poison me!" yet, no, not "all" of them will.

Well, not sure how interview went. Recorded to give to the team. They asked the exact things I expected, in the exact order (weird, but neat). Already knew what they did and could talk about it (which surprised her? like who applies to a random company and not know what they do).

News seriously needs to have a 48 hour delay for things trump says--just to fact check them or to see if it's even possible to be real. Trump could say "I discovered 500 trillion in gold for the usa!" and the effing news would headline it, then a day later say "it's on an asteroid, not accessible"

Is it considered actively looking for work if you have an interview scheduled this week, for a job that's "company name changes only" position, with apparently a starting range 10-20k more than I make now (10 over "paper", 20 over "penalized pay") and 30k over my paper wage on the top end.

I keep on seeing stories of "omg solar is keeping people alive!" Like: 1) it keeps ground cooler, so more water kept in the soil, making plants grow better 2) keeps ground cooler, so temps are outright cooler 3) provides effing power

I just applied to a job, that has the exact same duties that I do now (shy of not needing programming), the only difference is the company name. Oh yeah and about 25k more a year in pay, 15 minutes closer, and it's basically a straight line from house. (1 block up, 10 over, 2 down)

So Star Trek... Berman/Braga... they were basically just "women are objects for the male gaze/sex appeal" people weren't they? Like I can't help but look back at prior episodes during their time, and get that feeling that they were opting for stereotypes and sex appeal first, story second.

People want term limits and age limits for govt officials. Unless younger people get in office and can convince others--they're more likely to say "a corpse can vote by proxy as long as it's always along party lines" than anything else, even if an elected senator dies day after being sworn in.

When a person asks "can you replace a CEO/boss with AI?" You frequently get answers that are like "it's a waste of AI resources, they can be replace with if then statements"

I seriously hate how big companies make changes, that break something, but don't break it outright, and only on limited pcs--and the solution is to use their software, that is the thing that changed and broke it.

Everyone hates AI generated images that take away from artists.... but what about redesigning a room (where you aren't dropping thousands for a professional drape hanger that only does drape hanging and design)? Like "ok AI, here's a room, take out the couch and insert this one from this company"

People really need to realize that most/all companies (especially those worth millions to billions or more) will make all their decisions at the health and lives of not only employees, but also their customers--as long as the cost of fines/wrongful death is less than the fixes to prevent it.
