Meanwhile, impacts are accelerating: Europe is the fastest‑warming continent, and adaptation has limits.

We can halt warming — but only if we stop reinforcing the problem. In Europe, every energy crisis still leads to short‑term fixes that deepen fossil fuel dependence instead of reducing it.

Also, one study on ecosystems in one place at one time is no proof of no harm. About how many things are we finding out just a century and planetary upscaling later that actually there is a lot of harm (eg oil?)

IPCC AR6 shows that climate change is already driving widespread biodiversity loss, with risks rising sharply between 1.5 °C and 2 °C of warming as ecosystems approach limits to adaptation.

Peer‑reviewed lifecycle studies show: • Dog & cat food uses a measurable share of livestock resources • Diet choice (wet vs dry, protein type) strongly affects climate impact The issue isn’t having pets. It’s how care, food systems & consumption norms are organised. Caring better = caring smarter. 🌍

🐾 Pets play a growing role in our lives as societies become more lonely. Science shows they also have an environmental “pawprint” that is not negligible—mainly through food production.
