After recent events, it's become so very clear that social media isn't the best way to reach our communities. While I haven't given up on my social media entirely, I am going to be focusing on my blog over at Substack. Feel free to join me there. open.substack.com/pub/dgiovina...

The start of 2025 has been quite, well its been something to say the least, especially for those of us in the Los Angeles area.

In ep 12 I chat with @dianagauthor.bsky.social about uncovering women’s stories; her strongest editor & biggest critic; why there’s more to Italy than ancient Rome & the mafia; & so much more. Find out why Diana loves badass historical women-and why you might learn to love them, too. bit.ly/LWYLep12

If you'd like to support your fave authors in 2025 but you're skint, you could: - make a social media post about the book, just as basic as "i enjoyed this" and a picture (don't forget alt-text) - rec it in a relevant reddit thread or Goodreads forum or Facebook group Word of mouth has an impact!

Yes, editing is where the art comes in for the writing but can we talk about how that art is therapeutic when things just don't seem to be going your way?

The sweet young cashier at Trader Joes "oh, are you having a party for New Years?" Me, looking over my $100 worth of snacks "if by party you mean hanging out at home watching Wicked with my dogs, then yes, yes I am."

My goal for the rest of 2024 is to eat so many tamales that I infact become a tamale. Thank you for respecting my decision.

I am saddened to hear about the passing of author M.J. Rose. One of the things that I love about podcasting is being able to sit down with authors. MJ was warm & knowledgeable. It felt like sitting in on a masterclass. I only met her one time but I could see M.J. was an author's author.

I decided to take a break from writing this week because of my schedule. Have to say, it is one of the best things for me, BUT I want to cancel all my social plans so that I can sit home and write instead. #writerproblems

So, I am here giving this bluesky thing a chance. I'm a Historical Fiction Author and all around book lover. Looking to follow more authors and book accounts.
