I also can't wait to try out all the recepies! If any of that resonates with you, or if you just want a new way of looking at parts of history that get all too little attention, I highly recommend it. I got it here: arsenalpulp.com/Books/Q/Quee...

I just finished @aketchum22.bsky.social and Megan J. Elias's "Queers at the Table"! I resonated with stories of trans community through shared meals, the use of zines and magazines to spread knowledge and queer culture, & the history of the ways we celebrate and feed ourselves. I won't soon forget.

Some of my art for Realis! I drew some of the job classes and faction illustrations

Cranberry Curd Tart and Chocolate Coconut Pecan Pie I made for Christmas dinner. The Pie is a longtime favorite recipe I've been tweaking and the Tart is a new one for me. Hope it turns out great!

Another year, another round of presents wrapped while listening to @notquitereal.bsky.social's Sangfielle soundtrack. If this happens a third time, does that make it a tradition? Why does this album feel so seasonal to me? Why do I keep drawing The Shape on all the package tags? 🚂🤷‍♀️🎄

Also, love adding almond extract to stuff but please: not so much next time Diana. It's supposed to be a HINT of almond. Not Almond Flavored marshmallows. That are delicious though

I miiiiiiiight have added a bit too much nutmeg... but some maple syrup balanced it out. Anyway, totally worth the 3am finish on the marshmallows. I think it turned out pretty decently 😤

Thanksgiving is coming up, so its time to make changes to a recipe I've never made before with all the confidence society expects of an AMAB. Don't worry, I totally know what I'm doing.

I hope they say yes. Hopefully there are some cheaper options if they don't. Ergonomics can get pretty expensive 😑 There are also various stretches you can do, though I imagine you probably already have a stretching routine.

Oh and I should also mention that I second the text to speech suggestion. I don't use it, but Caitlin is able to really cut down on mouse usage with it. She also uses a left handed vertical mouse and switches between it and the right handed one regularly.

If the university will help you with purchasing equipment, I'd consider jumping through whatever hoops you need to to get a more ergonomic setup.

My wife and I have had similar problems. We use split keyboards and vertical mice. It helped us a lot She also uses a sit stand desk, and practices proper desk posture. So I can recommend these. I use a low profile split, and she has one with risers. They take some getting used to but they're great.

Angel's Egg might be the best animated film. Am I allowed to say that? I'm glad I got a chance to see it in theaters. I don't really know anything about anyone else's reception, but I was captivated. Lots of great inspiration for my creative hobbies.

Thanks so much for hosting this event! I never learned about queer history growing up, so I often feel disconnected from it now. Learning about the ways food helped gather queer communities and allowed a form of expression under the nose of restrictive social norms was eye opening.

I got Fall of Magic as a Christmas gift last year and love it. It's so well made. I played it with some friends who don't play lots of ttrpgs, and it was their daughter's first experience with a game like this. Watching them light up as they got into it and realized the possibilities was magical! 🧙‍♂️

Perpetua has been so charming so far, and Realis is something that can't be properly appreciated without being experienced I'll be boppin' to the Realis theme henceforth😎

Here's a screenshot of the email I sent to Visa about this. Collective action *can* make a difference in times like this, and sending a letter takes as little as a couple of minutes.
Dear Visa team,

I am a small business owner and a long-time visa customer through my Chase Southwest Premier credit card. I do business with this card and have been generally very pleased by Visa's service.

However, as I see payment processors bowing to far-right censorship groups like Collective Shout and that causing retailers to de-list thousands of titles with no notice (https://www.rascal.news/itch-io-delists-bans-games-under-pressure-from-payment-processors-and-an-australian-anti-porn-group/) I grow very worried that Visa may bow to this pressure as well.

If Visa gives in to pressure from hate groups like Collective Shout and forces retailer partners to de-list adult, NSFW, and/or LGBTQIA content, I will be forced to take my business to another company that supports creators like me. I do not want to throw away this long-standing relationship, but I need to know that my financial partners will not throw me to the wolves because of pressure from hate groups. And if I go, I will be loud when I do it, encouraging my thousands of followers to make similar decisions, working with my colleagues across professional organizations to flock to companies that will support us while abandoning those that leave us in the cold.

We live in dangerous times, and it is crucial to stand up against fascistic censorship wherever it rears its ugly head. I implore Visa leadership to vocally oppose and resist this pressure from far-right groups and reap the benefits through sustained and strengthened business relationships with creators around the world that rely on a consistent payment processor partner to be able to share their art and creativity.

Thank you for your time,
Michael Underwood

I've been banging this drum for years now, I know, but Zohran's Big Night is a clear illustration of the power of giving people a vision of the future that boldly contradicts the rhetoric of Republican fearmongers. Not just "disagrees on policies," but actively paints a different image of the world.

On our last day we went to the Adelaide Botanical Garden and saw a night display of blown glass art by Dale Chihuly. They were beautiful. A nice dinner, no sleep, and 18 hours of travel time later we were home. Tired, and the air conditioner was out. Yay. We got it fixed though

Adelaide day 1 we drove out to a nearby town for a lunch cruise on a paddle boat. It was great but we didn't realize that uber would take us out there but not take us back. Thank God for public busses. Once we got back we were still able to make it to a tour of Adelaide Gaol for some spooky stories

On our last day in Sydney we got on an overnight train to Adelaide. Unfortunately I didn't take many pictures that don't have us in them but it was really nice. Good food, and we got to meet some very interesting travellers.

For our 2nd day, we went to an amazing spa i forgot to take pics of and had afternoon tea, then later we saw Dido and Aeneas at the Sydney Opera House. It was good, but they were doing a sort of odd modern take with acrobats in the background that I really liked but also made it more confusing

We had dinner at the Sydney Tower Eye, which they aptly called SKYFEAST™️ It's was nice for a buffet, but it was still a buffet. The next day we went to Sydney Zoo and got to do a reptile handling experience. Caitlin was beaming, and the snakes were cuter than I expected

On days 6 and 7 we drove down to Sydney. On the way we stopped at Byron Bay Lighthouse, stayed the night in a cute little beach cabin (the kookaburra and kangaroos were just chilling on the lawn), and visited the town where my friend grew up. Great fish and chips on the beach on the way down too 🐟🍟

We also stopped at a nearby shop with tons of handmade clocks and stopped at a lookout in Brisbane to get a view of the city.

Day 5 was a bit hit and miss. Gorgeous views from the side of Mt Tambourine, followed by a slightly underwhelming glow worm cave tour I wasn't allowed to take pics of. As well as an ill fated Jungle hike to a "nearby" waterfall that my friend assured me he remembered exactly where it was. We lived.

On the way back to Brisbane, we picked a couple of random lookouts off of the highway to visit. Probably the best impromptu decision of the trip. These views were amazing, and we had them all to ourselves. The first two are from Eagle's Newt Lookout, and the other is Wild Horse Mountain.

While there we toured the Bundaberg rum factory, where we met a very bold butcher bird. We also fed some kangaroos and saw some neat reptiles at the animal sanctuary nearby.
