Xerian and Quirk discuss how they can sabotage the ship's cloaking device.

Xerian: "So, how long will it take you to learn about the cloaking device systems?"
Quirk: "There is a catch. Two, really."

Quirk: "Firstly, since the interesting stuff is on a separate network, we'll need to go to a specific location to access the appropriate data jack. So we'll risk detection just by going there. Hopefully, we'll only encounter a few patrol robots, if we're lucky."

Quirk: "Secondly, while I'm actually hacking the ship, I'll be in a trance-like state. So far I've deliberately stuck to easy targets or bailed out if I can't break through the defences quickly. But finding out about an entire topic like this... that will take time."

Lautrec: "You'll need us to guard you. Xerian won't be much good in a tussle, but he CAN at least warn you while I deal with our enemies, or at least hold them o-"

A blue flash appears behind Xerian, and they all stare at it.

Quirk: "What the..."

When the flash has dissipated, they find Niall lying in a heap on the floor.
