#immigration This has been bothering several of us for some time. Where is the nationwide injunction? Where is the lawsuit requesting an injunction? So many orgs: ACLU, Amica, CLINIC, RAICES, + private bar w/ arrests ongoing since last month, plntfs w/ standing & nothing?!🤯

That is all either normal language used in legal documents, or legal terms. Additionally, evidence is not submitted with a charging document. However, it is required at later stages, pre-trial. But those are terms commonly used as they r from statute or have legal reason.

Also: para 30 references body cam footage of him in Tenn. if they r making this allegation, they better have that body cam footage triple checked, confirmed & ready cause it’s coming up. Just weird how this footage only surfaced now & never before, even though it’s from 2022…

Indictment against Abrego Garcia. Re-hashing old allegations (that were previously rebutted)…but ok. Reminder: crim evidentiary burden is ‘beyond reasonable doubt’. Previous evidence of MS 13 involvement insufficient at ‘totality of circumstances’ but…🤷‍♀️ www.documentcloud.org/documents/25...

Yes. But state specific-& crucially-for ppl in specific situations or w/ specific needs. They make up such a minuscule portion of that state’s Medicaid. Some cases, single digit %. It’s some states, not every state. Most undoc don’t qualify. Ppl that have coverage r the *exception*.

SCOTUS told them they needed to bring him back b/c he was improperly removed. Instead of admitting fault, they are now accusing him of crim activity to save face. Let’s see the charging document. He’s supposedly so bad, so where is it?

YES! Several million undocumented ppl (approx 13 mil undocumented total, so a portion of that) pay taxes. As tax payers, they pay for services like Medicaid, Medicare, etc, exactly as you said 👆. But they don’t get it. USC kids can, but not them! But they pay for it!

Senate GOP are lying. Full stop. Not “misinformation”. Not “misleading”. It is a lie. Knowing, intentional, from Senators who are aware of the law. Undocumented *do not* receive benefits. At all. Of any kind. State or Fed. No Medicare. No Medicaid. No disability. No SS. No food assistance. Nada.

It is extremely stressful. Russell Vought is doing exactly what he wanted across the entire workforce: causing trauma. To everyone. In every agency.

Yeah. Yeah they are. Let that sink in. They are showing up to court, just like they are supposed to.

Misnaming, oversimplifying, whatever-it will not help & it will not serve to correct or stop this. Not harping u-see this alot so saying this for everyone. Accuracy counts. Naming what it is matters, cause that’s how we can stop it.

1. Virtual hearings are offered in some cases. It’s as needed, but it’s at courts discretion. 2. This is not “kidnapping”. It is a lawful arrest and processing for expedited removal. But-it is also (imo) unconstitutional deprivation of due process under 5A. It needs to be named. Held accountable.

Major change in data after 5/21-like, say, in absentia orders rising exponentially compared to prior weeks/months-is good “evidence” of causation. But…guess we’re focusing on the word “concrete” then? 😑

“I think it’s really just in the initiative stage,” he said. “So I don’t have any concrete evidence to show one way or the other.” There’s this little thing called the docket. Info like no. of in absentias orders can be viewed/compared b/twn days….

“When asked whether the arrests could deter people from showing up to court, Mr. Ripa said it was not clear.” Absolute BS. Arresting ppl like this *absolutely* deters them. In absentias have skyrocketed nationwide, since these began. Either Ripa is lying or is an idiot. Or both.

“A senior ICE official said in a statement that the agency’s prosecutors still had discretion to dismiss cases.” Massive lie. Only way to say no is if you don’t mind getting disciplined, potentially fired. Lawyers *will* dismiss cases HQ ordered. Lawyers *cannot* choose which cases

Also, on personal note: honestly don’t think DHS HQ is smart enough to target this person w/in mass number of ppl. Cruel enough, yes. Cruelty is the point. Just not smart or organized enough to actually do it.

Reports of lawyers attempting pushback & being disciplined. So-motions to dismiss being filed nationwide & very likely he fell w/in expanded ER guidelines.

No options. No room to pushback. No ability to object. Orders direct from DHS head, r to dismiss any & all who fall under guidelines & there is *no* pushback. At all. Reports of line/supervisory lawyers threatened w/discipline up to termination…

Def sheisty that he’s plaintiff in this lawsuit & that could totally be a motive. But-cases that have been id’d as eligible under expanded ER r being dismissed en masse….

Exact details unknown (like when he entered, so whether he falls under expanded ER). For info on expanded ER, see earlier post (w/link to Jan memo). Our opinion: case was dismissed b/c he fell under expanded ER & those cases are being mass dismissed….

Marginal propensities. Let’s talk about ‘em. Economists deal with two: marginal propensity to consume (MPC) and marginal propensity to save (MPS). IOW, if I give you a dollar, how much do you spend, and how much do you keep?

It’s a conspiracy to screw the poors and, as usual, the veteran fraudster says it’s free. Call your Senators and tell them if they attack you and your family like this, they will lose their job, their insider trading racket, and their ability to live without doing real work. (202) 224-3121

No. Citizenship has nothing to do with this. Ppl who fall w/in expanded expedited removal guidelines are at risk. New expanded ER exponentially increased those eligible for ER & those ppl were facing possible arrest.

DHSaucepan @dhsaucepan.altgov.info · 21/05/2025
These only apply to expanded expedited removal. Someone who has a green card wouldn’t fall within those guidelines.

Non-detained masters are master hearings (type of admin hearing that comes before the individual/trial). Non-detained means person is not detained. Nothing to do w/citizenship.

This was *only* happening at immigration courts. Might be happening elsewhere, but post was about this specific new development. Does not apply to ppl outside these guidelines. But these are *very* broad new guidelines. 1/23/25 memo attached below.

Lots of confusion (understandably so). Basically, ER expanded in new memo from 1/23/25. Expanded to include entrants w/in last 2 yrs, & w/o visa or other lawful documents or who entered w/o inspection.

#immigration West coast/Pacific time non-detained masters: arrests are going to start at non-detained masters, to process under new expanded ER. Starting today. Attorneys/non profits, please be advised.

Be kind to federal employees. Many of us are loosing our jobs. Some over text message. Some are keeping jobs, but it’s getting harder and harder to deal w/the narcissism & incompetency at the top. We love your kindness. Hopefully, we’ll all get through this together. 💕

This is the leadership of this admin. There are great #federalemployees who are career civil servants. They are being forced out by leadership who has a temper tantrum & then risks an entire US agency payroll (re:taxpayer money).

DHS Fantastique Plastique got the mad fee fees on a Friday and *over the weekend-ie not work hours* forced meetings & messaging to clean her mess. Any use of AWS could lead to termination.

No thought how that would affect pay period. No thought how that would affect schedules for those who use AWS w/families. Who already have future plans/appointments/etc scheduled. Nope.

Last week, DHS Dress-Up Barbie got upset that so many employees were not at work, on their off Friday. So that Sunday, DHS wide email informs agency that AWS is gone immediately. Mid pay period.

Thousands fed employees work compressed work schedules, “alternative work schedules”. Work longer hours during week & have 1 day off every other week.

This is a relatively minor complaint (given the “consolidation” going on at multiple agencies) but its ex of the narcissistic, incompetence at the top of our agency.

Not going into this decision. It’ scary given what precipitated the decision. To truly understand, read Sotomayor and Ketanji-Brown’s dissents. To compare something to Korematsu is extreme. But Sotomayor is reasoned, intelligent, nuanced. Her comparison is apt & that much more frightening.
