Yeah, the only way this works is through frog boiling, the Obamacare exchange website debacle made it clear radical change is going to alienate the kid of idiots who are swing voters.

i get she doesn’t want to be a wrecker and good for her for that, but that and the not bothering to learn important issues like 1) you can’t just hand wave through the transition phase of the entire healthcare system 2) he actually supports the first step, not magic pixie dust wands

It’s especially funny because US legislative minorities are relatively less powerless than ones in most Euro systems, which the D party has leveraged with a high level of success

They made it more blue to take down Don Davis *because Phil Berger Sr traded the gerrymandering for a Trump endorsement in his state senate primary* and then 1) Trump endorsed him but then also ~~endorsed his opponent,* and 2) Berger Sr lost. *b/c he thought his opponent looked cool

I’m dead serious, it comes from Israel being spelled “Israël“ in French and that sounds like “iz-ra-hell” if you’re an h-dropper - the dimmer Corbyn stans would write out “Israhell” but smarter ones like Galloway use the trema as a dog-whistle

This guy must so fucking pissed at Phil Berger Sr for stealing R-leaning parts of his district to gerrymander in exchange for a Trump endorsement, then losing anyway.

The state I live in spent $$$$ paying Texas idiots to replace a bunch of legacy systems for [$important govt function] and they didn’t both to ask any practitioners anything about anything. It has dramatically increased time to do basic tasks.

I think it’s also worth noting that in Tolkien, there’s magic that means literally saying Sauron’s name gives him some kind of knowledge or connection of you - HP is less *magical* in this regard, Voldemort’s name is just a name and the wizards are superstitious dolts.

I think this is because the UK anti-trans people were able to package trans affirmation as sexist (stipulate that this makes no sense), but no one things evangelicals care about sexism, and no one thinks the NYT editorial board really does either, so it falls flat.

I think this is straightforwardly a huge part of the difference through around 2020 - transphobia was done by religious right nuts and extremely online freakazoids. Since then, we’ve got the “elite backlash” but it’s gotten so much less traction.

Idolization of *completely synthetic* LatAm historical experience that is 90% movies and 10% college guest speakers, and so defaults to being patronizingly racist (to “el pueblo” and left activists) to poisonously racist (to anyone seen as “rw” for vibes-based reasons)

Shilkas and Gepards are ok but they have radar, fast traversing electric turrets and are from the 60s but are considered overmatched by gunships using popup tactics

dhpljm266.bsky.social @dhpljm266.bsky.social · 13/10/2026
MANPADS are basically developed because of how powerful gunship pop-up attacks are - all the larger WWII flak like 88s are too slow to turn toward a gunship before it’s back behind terrain and smaller guns are also slow traversing and relatively rare

Our analysis of prejudice and bigotry is so cooked that the (theoretical) existence of a person who could punch up at someone means any arbitrary person can, and that there are no limits to punching up because in theory that could be tone policing.
