Sunrise at Cokes Surf Break reveals the sun rising behind the nearby resort. A boat, likely fishing or on a sunrise cruise, moves through the channel between the two islands. At the bottom of the frame, foamy waves touch the shore, tinted blue by the sky’s light. Beyond them, the sea turns golden as the sun emerges above the horizon. Low-lying clouds appear grey and stormy, while the sky above glows with a band of gold.

A liveaboard safari yacht anchors just beyond, with a smaller dive boat beside it. Toward the right, a smaller vessel sails on a sunset cruise. The sea reflects a purplish sky and a hint of red from the setting sun. Clouds fill the sky at every level. The light shifts from gold to yellow to light blue and purple as it rises, with red streaks in lighter clouds from the sun’s rays.

Sunrise Golden Hour at Coke’s Beach, Thulusdhoo. The sea is bathed in the blue light of the pre-dawn sun, and the sea wall and the resort beyond it are in silhouette. The sky at the horizon is covered by a horizontal cloud bank. And above it is the golden glow of the just-about-to-rise sun. The gold fades into yellow and mixes into the blue of the higher sky. The light in the sky is divided into three beams.
