In practice, it's almost always left blank. When something does use it, it tends to be something pointless like the program's name or literally just "Class". AFAICT, you can also only set the class when creating a key and can't change it afterwards, making it inconvenient for many things.
Screenshot of a regedit-like tree table view. There is a key "Clients" with a few subkeys, all of which have nothing shown in the rightmost column. There is a second key "Cygwin", which shows the class "Cygwin" in the rightmost column. The "Cygwin" key has two subkeys: "Installations", which has no class, and "setup", which also has class "Cygwin".Screenshot of a regedit-like tree table view. There is a key "Microsoft" (not expanded, but indicating many subkeys) with nothing shown in the rightmost column. There is a second key "MikeN", which shows the class "Class" in the rightmost column. Its tree of subkeys is also shown, and they all also have the class "Class".

This went around as a joke a while ago, but apparently there's a real command called "clit" in many Linux distros. It stands for "convert .LIT" and absolutely nothing else, mhm. manpages.debian.org/trixie/convlit/…

Writing a small hex editor widget and was excited to use the Unicode "Control Pictures" to represent the ASCII control characters. But sadly, the default Windows monospace font doesn't have these symbols, so they mess up the uniform line heights :( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Control_Pictu…
Wikipedia's table for the Unicode "Control Pictures" block, showing code points U+2400 through U+2429, which are single symbols for each of the ASCII control character names: "NUL", "SOH", "STX", "ETX", "EOT", etc. (followed by a few other symbols that also stand for control characters, but don't fit the pattern)

The Minecraft Wiki article for Crying Obsidian can be improved significantly by removing every occurrence of the word "obsidian"
A wiki article section "History", subsection "Development", containing a table:
"February 23, 2011 - Jeb states he would like to add crying as a block.";
"March 30, 2011 - Jeb states that crying would act as a way of setting a respawn point. The idea would later be discarded in favor of beds.[3]";
"April 15, 2011 - Jeb states that the grass edge tile has replaced the crying in the texture file.";
"February 9, 2012 - Jeb states that he will bring back crying as soon as he's made preparations for more texture space.";
"December 3, 2019 - Maria Lemón notes that many players suggest implementing crying alongside new Nether features."Another wiki table, labeled "29w09a":
[Crying Obsidian icon] "Added crying.";
"Crying is currently obtainable only through bartering.";
"Crying has no function.";
"Crying produces a light level of 10.";
"Crying can be harvested with any pickaxe."Thumbnails of two Minecraft screenshots showing Crying Obsidian blocks. The image descriptions are "Crying in the overworld." and "Crying with programmer art textures.".

Annd the award for the most confusing timestamps on Mastodon goes to... this toot. Posted on 13 August 2024 at 20:24, edited on 13 August 2024 at 20:25. Combined with the fact that the edit timestamp has no explicit year and it's currently 2025, it looks like it was edited exactly one year later.
Screenshot of a toot's posted and edited timestamps in the Mastodon web interface. The posted time is "13. Aug. 2024, 20:24", the edited time is "13. Aug., 20:25".Screenshot of the same toot's timestamps, this time with the list of edits expanded, revealing that the post was edited on "13. Aug. 2024" (the same day it was posted), not 2025 as the un-expanded timestamp implies.

yeah, sure, that gap is *definitely* large enough for a rail track (I mean, I'm not complaining)
Factorio screenshot: A non-elevated rail track on Vulcanus, going diagonally through a cliff. There is a very narrow gap in the cliff, just barely wide enough for the track. It's so narrow that the "end of cliff" texture on one side partially covers the train track, and in some spots the cliff debris is spread over the whole width of the track.

my thoughts whenever I look into the technical details of graphics file formats and have to think about un-/premultiplied alpha
["STOP DOING MATH" meme format - plain text on light blue background]

STOP DOING ALPHA CHANNELS

• Pixels were not meant to be transparent
• YEARS OF DISPLAY TECHNOLOGY yet NO REAL-WORLD USE FOUND for anything beyond OPAQUE RGB PIXELS
• Wanted to make part of your texture invisible anyway for a laugh? We had a tool for that: It was called "[bright magenta pixel]"
• "Yes please give me this specific color in INVISIBLE. Please give me 150 % intensity on the red channel" - Statements dreamed up by the utterly Premultiplied

LOOK at what Graphics Programmers have been demanding your Respect for all this time, with all the CRTs & LCDs we built for them
(This REAL Transparency, done by REAL Graphics Programmers)

[Three images demonstrating transparency, but with their transparent parts rendered as opaque in different ways:]
[Wikipedia's sample PNG image "PNG_transparency_demonstration", with the transparent background shown as the usual light gray checkerboard pattern]
[the OpenEXR sample image "PrismLenses", with the transparent background shown as solid black]
[a texture of a bouquet of flowers, with the transparent background replaced with opaque colors "bleeding out" from the opaque pixels]
[all images are subtitled with progressively longer strings of red question marks]

""Emission with no occlusion cannot be represented in straight alpha""

They have played us for relative fools

Screenshot of the main menu of Factorio in windowed mode, but the window is resized to be much wider than it's tall. Loving the facial expression of this cartoony version of the GNU logo. Spotted it in a random SO question: stackoverflow.com/q/39015453 (image uploaded by SO user K.Mulier, used under the terms of the CC BY-SA 3.0 license)
An unofficial (I think?) variant of the GNU project logo, in a semi-abstract, cartoonish vector art style with thick lines and solid colors. It has an overly happy facial expression with stylized floating eyebrows and unequally sized oval eyes, which (to me) comes across as a little derpy. Below the GNU head is an arrow labeled "GNU make".
