3) A hidden creek with oak-lined walking path. Glen Echo Creek runs mostly underground from Oak Hill Cemetery to Lake Merritt, exposed for only 3 blocks in this neighborhood.

Photo shows both Yamaha G-55-A guitars side by side I’ve reconditioned this past month. The first one I did, on the right, still looks beat up compared to one I did today.

Cleaned my other Yamaha G 55-A from Nippon Gakki, the one I’ve had since 1987. Fretboard wood still has noticeable depressions or channels in second fret position. Cleaned the nut, did *not* adjust or replace the saddle. New strings (D’Addario Pro Arte) alone make it easier to play.

Guitar all cleaned and oiled and re-strung

I’ve been practicing again after nearly 40 years on my other guitar, also a Yamaha G-55A Nippon Gakki. We’ll clean it up and re-string it tomorrow. Strings are D’Addario Pro Arte, by the way, which already make the fixed up guitar a lot easier to play.
