Who had no idea what is going on with me when I saw her. During the exam she was feeling my neck for my thyroid and I had to explain, from scratch, about the cancer and thyroidectomy. 130
Dextra Hoffman @dextra.bsky.social · 07/09/2026I have short term disability insurance that’s been providing 60% of my salary while I’m on leave. However they only paid me through mid-August. Meaning I’ve missed a couple paychecks because they require more information to keep paying me. That’s when the medical professional shenanigans come in. 130

And once again, the American healthcare system is doing its best to try to break me. 130

I am glad to report that I do currently remain cancer free, but no one prepares you for how much one little gland can affect your entire existence. And combine that with all my other issues, it’s been the world’s worst amusement park ride. 130

It’s been almost 3 years and it’s still a huge issue. If you’ve been here for a while, you know I was having to be very vulnerable just so I could survive. 143
