Yea, S1 is actively working to trick you in that regard multiple times. Heck, the very first scene is literally Miku at Hibiki's 'grave' so you spend all of S1 assuming Hibiki is a doomed hamster walking :D

Hopefully movie comes out sooner than Madoka one did!! And yea. That's a great way to describe YYY; I consider it the only post-Madoka series that 'got it' so to speak; Symphogear was already in the works when Madoka hit so its more a younger sibling than descendant

The Symphogears emit a waveform that renders Noise vulnerable, essentially - including to 'normal' damage so if you have a girl singing your guns will work on Noise now.

One I really think strengthens it. I do love the YAY TOKUSATSU JOY vibe that future seasons have, but the Vibe of S1 is immaculate and as I love saying now, my biggest Gear what if is 'What if it continued in S1 style & only kept the original trio + Miku as protagonists'
