But hear me out, what if instead, the vox populi overthrew McDonalds?
One of the maddest tweets I have ever read, which I'd quote directly if I didn't think it would lead to nonsense in the reply chain.

"I want to overthrow McDonald's, specifically, in this case. I think we are still reckoning what they've had a hand in doing to American health in general.

And I'm old enough to remember people being fired. Though, I was a child. I also remember it was the people and activists who changed that."

Yes, because it's step one in the overthrow of McDonalds, and the rise of queer independent cafes throughout the land. 🫪

100%, but they could not have done so if they had literally the most basic knowledge of the subject and had read the full motion, because of this line.

Tom Clarke @deworde.bsky.social · 04/10/2026
What's fundamentally hilarious about this, given the motion, is that this statement taken literally reads: "They argued that racists wouldn’t have to leave the party if the motion passes"
Argument from a Jewish Green Party member regarding the Green's motion to declare Zionism to be racism
"They argued that Zionists wouldn’t have to leave the party if the motion passes, pointing to the fact that it is an E motion and therefore does not materially change party disciplinary proceedings."

"Specifically" How do I get rid of this damn account?

Honestly, even if you're super into the lore and game, the "minis look neat" is fundamental. Even when they look neat but daft.

I do think "Your line manager provides emotional support" is not as unusual as this makes it seem, though if I found myself on the "informal disciplinary" side of the desk in this situation, my first task pastorally would be to find someone to do it who could sit on the correct side of the desk
The court heard Aldrich had been assigned as Moffat’s “pastoral care” despite being her line manager, and that she was told not to speak to friends about the allegations and potential investigation.

Informally removing your ability to do your job right here, but "informally"
Begins with a description of the anonymous complaint about sharing confidential information with direct and instant impact on her role.
Ends with her manager claiming that having anyone outside of her superiors there would have made the meeting "feel formal"

Do you know how dangerously you have to be driving to get a speeding in *Devon and Cornwall*? A place where a sports car does 80 round a blind corner during tourist season?

Tom Clarke @deworde.bsky.social · 10/07/2026
Note the use of "tight" to distinguish between the residential streets where people will never be crossing (between Speaker's Corner and the Marriot Hotel) and the streets where people might nominally cross (anywhere his car might be scratched)

Nothing says "I am a habitually careful driver" like your dad warning you where the cameras are, and your ex warning you about getting caught speeding. Nothing "nine-points" about that.
Warned as to the installation of a camera by my dad, I approached it with the concentration of a bomb techie. One eye on the speedometer, one eye on the road. I rolled passed the camera. Phew, safe. Then gently I accelerated. Flash.

It turns out a lifetime of assuming you can speed up the second you pass the camera was wrong. The words of my ex-girlfriend, that you should stay under the limit until you pass the white lines further down the road, rang in my head like a final unwelcome I told you so.

Every part of this, from the image down, is telling on himself.
The author coming up with his view of a nine-point licence driver, a footballer driving dangerously at 120mph along the largest motorway in England; more accurately this is an image of someone about to have a serious and lethal accident. The author as the actual platonic image most of us have of a nine-point driver; early 30's, smug expression, leaning on the car as if it's his first love, Jeremy Clarkson cosplay.

In his defence, kids are relatively unlikely to be playing in this road. Drunk people crossing from that massive park? A tad more likely. Also, *love* his description which really makes it seem more like the M1 than 3 feet from a park.
Pictured: A massive park with a traffic interchange in front of it. Plenty of lights and cameras, and the "multiple lanes" are to separate turning traffic, not overtaking lanes.A description of the area in the picture that makes it seem like it's the M25 rather than an area with multiple apartment blocks directly around it.

Yeah, but you're still using the phrase "what part of town" not "which town/city" I love Wikipedia here: "Given the proximity of Gateshead to Newcastle, just south of the River Tyne from the city centre, it is sometimes incorrectly referred to as being a part of Newcastle." ... Sure, "incorrectly"

The bottom post here is hugely suspicious on multiple levels. Basically what does "improve things on paper" mean? Because if it means less child poverty, less victims of crime, that's not *paper* that's someone's lived experience.
The second post reads "people of colour and Indigenous people while tell you that while this may improve statistics on paper for each community, the BIPOC are still being left behind because underlying causes are still not being addressed. Once displaced, people's political power is further diluted."

I mean, apparently a lot of his fellow travellers weren't keen on Zahawi. conservativehome.com/2026/06/17/r...
Excerpt from article: The factions deeply distrust each other and perform shadow operations within Reform to undermine each other, in order to avoid one faction getting too powerful. For example, when fellow Tory Nadhim Zahawi defected, I was delighted. I was then surprised to be told of high level discussions to encourage Branch Chairs to write into HQ in a unified protest, in a hope to expel him.

But at that point, as I say, *London* is "near the North-East". Easier to get to than Lincoln for most, as well.
100
Tom Clarke @deworde.bsky.social · 05/06/2026
Yeah, I mean, if you do this by area, you sort of find that the line of what's in the North-East is everything above Cambridge, which is quirky.

Yeah, I'm just going with that idea from Loki which was all the better for being immediately cancelled so it couldn't develop its own problems that there are two kids in a universal library handing out extra time to interesting people. It helps that it's basically Marvel editorial in disguise.

What constitutes a "fail" though? Because the DBS check just says what you've done. It's then up to the organisation you share it with to decide "Is them being questioned by the police a reason not to employ them"

As a software developer, this demonstrates a complete contempt for the man that is glorious, and summarised by the old quote "No Software Developer would code a 'DestroyBaghdad' function. Professional pride would make them create a 'DestroyCity' function that took 'BAGHDAD' as a parameter."

I was just thinking of him, but tbf, he's Poirot with a different accent. And even then, there's normally a young woman going through a character arc standing near him. Here's your modern iconic hero:
Daddy Pig proudly basking in the sun, with the expression of a man perfectly at peace with himself and in no need of change or self-improvement of any kind.

Those are all ones I found very pickup and putdownable, mostly short contained missions or levels. I don't know if you'd have played this on console, but:

Oh god, Cult of the Lamb! If you haven't played it on console, it is a Hades-type game where you lead a cult of farm animals in service to That Which Waits Beneath.
A red-eyed cartoon lamb sits in front of a wooden temple below a glowing red moon. His followers flank him as they sit and eat bits of offal. It's oddly adorable.

TL;DR, believing that Elphicke's beyond the pale for Labour means capping Labour's vote more than politics nerds would think.

I mean, they actually have a insanely better economic situation than the UK on almost every axis *but that's not making it through to a lot of potential voters*.

It's also not true for the US, where the middle-class is one of the richest in the world. The growth definitely benefits more than the top 1%, although it's true that the bottom 10 doesn't see the benefit.
