Yeah, I'm with you, I prefer the show instead of describe approach too. And I feel like you can only go so far trying to please everyone before you're making other sacrifices. I wish someone told me game dev was hard...

Yeah, plus there's sometimes one detail in those walls of text that if you miss you may have trouble later in the game. But I've also found that a good chunk of modern gamers don't really like the MegaMan X style, so I found adding in hint signs help do a mix of both if possible works pretty well

I think about that all the time too. In practice, it's not easy and takes extra time to develop, which I think is why most skip it where it would be applicable. The tutorials I like the least are the pages of text interrupt the flow
