The new Siri Modular watch face coming next week in watchOS 27 is pretty cool. It can intelligently show the most relevant widget right on the watch face, with the option to add fixed complications as well.

Four screenshots of the Siri Modular watch face on an Apple Watch in a grid, with each showing the time in a large font, the date above the time, and a widget below the time. The widgets include Structured day planner, an active workout, a podcast in Now Playing, and a food order pickup code.

Found another Apple Watch face that doesn't waste pixels on unnecessary :00 indicators. Who needs them?

Friendship with Owala ended. Ello is my best friend now. (To be fair to Owala, I am very good at breaking water bottles. This time was a personal record.)

You know that awesome new UI for creating a reminder from Control Center or via the Action button? It's available via Shortcuts, too! It's called the 'Quick Reminder' action, and it's my new best friend.

With its third major version, visionOS shows no signs of slowing down. I'm pleased to present visionOS 26: The MacStories Review, covering widgets, spatial scenes, wide field-of-view video, the Jupiter environment, the spatial web, and more. macstories.net/stories/vision...

A photo of a wall with framed art reading, “This is our happy place.” The artwork is surrounded by visionOS widgets, including Weather, Clock, Notes, Calendar, Photos, and Battery.

App Intents enable amazing features on our devices, but I recently found myself overwhelmed by so many options. In the Monthly Log, I share how I muddled my setup, plus my scaled-back approach that’s resulted in something more clean and usable. club.macstories.net/posts/app-in...

I love apps that surface old items for me to revisit, like Photos and Everlog. To get a similar experience out of my Collections databases, I created a custom On This Day view, and I shared all of the details in the latest Club MacStories Monthly Log. club.macstories.net/posts/adding...

I’m playing around with an On This Day widget dashboard that includes journal entries, photos, creative output, and editing work from this date in past years. Things I found today: a picture from the day we adopted Winter six years ago and a blog post I wrote in 2012!

A framed screenshot of an iPhone Home Screen with a purple-blue gradient background and four widgets: Everlog (with a blurred snippet of a journal entry from May 25, 2023, and the number 10), Photos On This Day (featuring a photo of a smiling white dog with the caption “6 Years Ago”), and two from Collections (one showing a blog post entitled “Branson” from May 25, 2012, and another showing MacStories Weekly from May 25, 2024).

Not a unique thought, but I am so deeply grateful for the technology available to me for documenting family moments, especially as a parent. Photos like this one are priceless.

I feel like this car dealership sign is threatening me.

A roadside car dealership sign with those slot-in letters spelling out the message:

HEAVEN
OR
HELL
ITS YOUR CHOICE

Have I tried to do the visionOS hand-flipping gesture to check the time when I wasn’t wearing my Vision Pro? Yes, I have. Have I done it more than once? Yes, I have. 🫣
